He better hope he didn't violate any conditions of his release. I'm guessing they are checking it to see if has drank any alcohol.

What is a SCRAM device?

A SCRAM device is a tool used by courts, probation departments, and sometimes defense attorneys to monitor a client’s blood alcohol content level. It is worn around one’s ankle and takes samples of perspiration every 30 minutes to monitor and report blood alcohol levels. Data from the device is transmitted to the SCRAM company at least once a day. If alcohol consumption is indicated, the data is forwarded to SCRAM technicians who verify the drinking event before alerting court officials.

Would it be a surprise?

The guy has already been busted for drunk driving twice in the past 4 years... he wasn't even off probation a year when he killed a team-mate.

103.3 said there was something wrong with the reading, as Denim Chicken suggested.

I'm all for second chances, but if he did consume alcohol, then he does not deserve any more leniency.

From ESPNDallas.com...

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent will go to a hearing on Friday morning to determine if he violated the conditions of his bail because his alcohol monitoring device detected he used alcohol according to the Dallas County District Attorneys office.

Debbie Denmon, a spokesperson for the Dallas DA, said the office is seeking to have Brent's bond revoked because he's not meeting the conditions of it due to the alcohol monitoring device.

Brent will visit Dallas Judge Robert Burns Friday morning at 9 a.m.

According to a source, Brent didn't use any alcoholic beverages but his attorneys were trying to determine how it got into his system. The source said Brent might have gotten alcohol by using mouthwash or eating a particular kind of food.

Brent is awaiting trial after being accused of intoxication manslaughter in the death of Cowboys' practice squad player and best friend Jerry Brown.

Brown was killed on Dec. 8 in Irving, Texas, when Brent crashed his car after a night of drinking.

Per the conditions of his bail, Brent was ordered to wear an alcohol monitoring device, called Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor, which detects whether or not he's been drinking.

The SCRAM has gone off several times to indicate something is wrong.

If he cannot stop drinking following the death of his best friend and a legal situation that will define his life then he is far far away from being right. He is dangerous and if he cannot see that he needs to stop then I wouldn't know what to say except might as well write him off.

Mouthwash, not to be ingested.

To be fair I often sprinkle mouthwash on my ankle bracelet too. I've said too much.

Using Axe body spray is reason enough to punish someone.

Presumably he's had this for a while.

The problem I see with it being mouthwash or anything else is that these are things usually done on a daily basis and this is just now setting it off after how long?

Not to mention 48 measurements per day.

Odds are the company has it figured out to where someone's deodorant isn't sending them to jail.

I would be surprised if he didnt drink.
