So if he got a head cold and took some Nyquil, violation?

I will reserve judgment until the facts are out there, but again, if he actually drank under his circumstances, then you write him off...

as Forrest Gump would say: stupid is as stupid does

with his current situation taking ANYTHING that might have alcohol in it is just so stupid its beyond words.

Frankly he sounds like he will NEVER get it.

There are plenty of non-alchohlic based cold therapies.... if you are awaiting trial and your life/career is on the line, it is moronic to even play with fire and use something like Nyquil with there are other options.

Chances are when he was given the device to wear there was some documentation or instructions given to him that indicated what foods and drinks would register on the device.

According to a source, Brent didn't use any alcoholic beverages but his attorneys were trying to determine how it got into his system. The source said Brent might have gotten alcohol by using mouthwash or eating a particular kind of food.

:laugh1: :laugh2: :lmao2:

Pure gold there, I can't wait to see what other scenarios those guys come up with!

105.3 The FAN ‏@1053thefan 21m #Cowboys Josh Brent currently in a #Dallas courtroom to explain why a monitoring device shows he's been drinking. http://cbsloc.al/10XXsQZ

Can 'environmental alcohol' (non-drinking) set off #Cowboys Josh Brent's SCRAM? Yes. Will the judge believe it happened 4 times? Hmm.

.@ashluvshotyoga Great report. J. Brent is an addict/alcoholic. / I find it reasonable for judge/#Cowboys to explore this, yes.

#Cowboys Josh Brent is in court right now, essentially telling judge 'The dog ate my homework. And then ate it again and again.'

Welp. I guess that's probably the end of the line for him.

In all honesty, the end of the line was when he decided to turn on ignition loaded drunk and took another guys life.

It probably should have been knowing his history.

I guess they wanted to give him one more chance. If he's been drinking again, that's his last one.

Tragic decision. As tragic as rolling the dice with your life and safety by getting into the car with a drunk driver and choosing not to wear a seat belt.

Brent doesn't deserve any excuses here if he violated the conditions of his bail, but it doesn't hurt to hear the whole story before deciding anything. A false positive isn't unheard of.

Judge Robert Burns on the bench. @dallascowboys Josh Brent hearing to start momentarily.

Josh Brent's bond supervisor acknowledges handling off case by Dallas Co. DA's office is "unusual."

Report shows no alcohol or tampering detected by SCRAM alcohol monitoring advice on #joshbrent.

SCRAM supervisor said he doesn't believe @dallascowboys #joshbrent consumed alcohol.

SCRAM device supervisor testified that #joshbrent failed to download necessary info to device "22 times," making monitoring difficult.

On cross examination, SCRAM supervisor said "there's nothing" to indicate josh Brent consumed alcohol.

Josh Bret's bond not increased. He is not jailed.

Unsurprising if DMN's reporting is accurate and the SCRAM device shows neither alcohol use nor tampering.

I understand this guy was involved in a life changing (and life ending) accident, and some here have very strong feelings about it, but lets not rush to judge the man, at least in relation to this hearing, until all the facts are in the open.

wow...
lots of judgmental people here that have never done a thing wrong.

glass houses much?

he NEVER had a positive at all and the DA clearly is using this to grab attention since they don't normally handle these issues at all.

love how people are so much more sanctimonious than jerry brown's family. rage on by all means.

Let's step off the high horse a tad here.

If the guy did not have a past and did not have to be wearing the device in the first place he might have a little bit more trust from the fan base.

If someone proves that they are untrustworthy...than when something like this happens they are not going to get the benefit of the doubt from the majority...and rightfully so.

How many times are we going to go through fire drills like this before we realize the actually story is so often very different from the initially reported story?
