Never thought they had a chance at the SB,But they made progress at improving..The Commanders have alot of young and improving players like Jordan Reed,Preston Smith,Jaimeson Crowder

Jordan reed 25 and has already had 5 concussions.. Romo has come back from this same type of injury and the following year he threw for 4200 31 tds and 10 ints... I wouldn't worry about our players health...

Holy crap I just looked it up and saw Norman is already 28 yrs old, and will be 29 before this season is over... honestly thought the dude was like 24. Probably a good idea not to throw that kind of money at him at that age. Hell, even if he was 24 that's still crazy.

Since when did 28 become old for a CB? That is a new one even for the creative haters.

During the last decade the nfc east champs have been a virtual lock to get smited by the football gods the following year. When you top that off by spending your off season throwing huge chunks at a couple of one hit wonders....well, enjoy the rain fellas.

it's old considering it's a 5 year deal. He'll be 34 before that contract is up. Who knows, he could still be a great player at that age but it's unlikely.

IF and that is a big if he plays all 5 years of the deal he will be 32 for the 5th season. Why does everyone have to add years prematurely?

It's a joke. Just when I was worried DC had figured out how to build a team, Snyder joins NY and Philly in mortgaging the future. Regardless of how this season goes, if Jerry can just avoid losing his mind, we will have a chance to own the East in the future.

No, Norman isn't even close to the top CB in the NFL. He's much more comfortable in the zone scheme; Skins will ask him to play much more man to man. He will be a huge upgrade over what they had, true, but 50 mil guaranteed? They owe him 14-15 mil this year, yet they currently have only 11.4 mil. Restructures can cover that, but they also have to find millions to pay a draft class. They wanted Cousins to play on the franchise tag and prove he can do it two years in a row, but now they may have to sign him to a long term big contract to lower his hit this year. If Cousins returns to his previous years of crazy turnovers, this could be more fun than RGIII. Norman will be 29 before the season, and this was his breakout season, with a SB-bound defense that was sack crazy. He had a career high 4 ints, 16 passes defended, and 56 tackles in 16 games.

Yes, he will help the Skins secondary...no doubt. But that's his career year at 29 years old behind one of the top NFL pass rushes. This contract will exact a heavy toll that is highly unlikely to balance out with dividends.

With only a healthy Romo who is old and injury prone? Nothing guaranteed at all we may have 2 years IF that w/a healthy Romo...PHI mortgaged their future for their potential franchise QB. We could have done the same thing at a much lower cost, but we're okay w Bosa to help Romo get that ring. We're only picking @ 4 bc Romo was out for most of the year and then make no effort to add one of the top 2 QBs in the upcoming draft:rolleyes: If we had a legitimate QB prospect on the team, I would agree that we have enough talent to take the East into the future. But right now, it's looking like this year, maybe next, or bust w/Romo.

Ramsey would be nice as a S, but a potential franchise QB to take over for Romo would've been a little bit nicer looking towards the future and to not waste the OL. Who knows, maybe they like Lynch @ 4 (I don't personally, but can see that WAS their plan; QB @ 4 but weren't willing to move up for anyone, etc.)

How do the Skins still have more cap space than us?

Because while fans around here keep thinking Snyder has been spending money like a fool, his front office has been trimming back and last year he hired a quality GM.

The sour grapes are in full effect. All this mortgaging the future chatter is hilarious. The Skins did no such thing. They will have sufficient cap space after this season even with Norman.

Some of you haven't been paying attention to what's been going on in Washington.

Math?

His birthday is December 15, 1987. He will turn 34 during his fifth season in Washington.

His birthday is at the very end of the season, so he'll play majority of the seasons as follows:

2016 - 28
2017 - 29
2018 - 30
2019 - 31
2020 - 32

Name the best corners in football and their ages and then when they got paid their big bucks.

I don't understand how any of you continue to bash the Skins, year in and year out without taking any notice to how their FA deals are structured.
I mentioned earlier in this thread that 50% of Norman's cap number can be deferred until next year and Culliver will be cut. This move alone will free up 5.5 mil in 2016. In essence, Norman's cap hit for 2016 is 1.5 mil.
1/3 of Norman's guaranteed money comes in the form of signing bonus in which leaves a deal that is roughly 14 mil per year for 3 years. After his third year, Norman's dead money (if cut) is around 5-7 mil.

There's nothing extraordinary about this contract and Scott McCloughan knows exactly what he's doing. Dan Snyder on the other hand, has nothing to do with GM duties anymore.

All this jabbering about "typical Skins" and "Dez is going to don't this" is nothing but sour grapes.

That old and tired D Hall has had Dez's number for years.

He's going to be collecting social security before his contract is up. He's that old.

That's a lot of mouth for the fan of the team who is paying 19 million dollars for a QB who has NEVER beaten a team with a winning record.

Broken collarbone and all there isn't a single fanbase in the NFC East that would take Cousins over Romo.

Did it ever dawn on you that those teams the Skins beat would have had winning records if the Skins didn't beat them?

Also, you are completely smoked up if you think that any team would touch Rome with a ten foot pole. And you are seriously deranged if you think that anyone would pick Romo over Cousins. Tell me again what you've gotten out of Romo with that 100 mil Jurry has paid him?

You guys are incredible!
