Revis. 5 years, 70MM at age 29.

I am not saying the Cowboys should have spent that. They shouldn't have.

But no reason to crap on the Skins who had a need at CB and have cap space. They got better today.

Now compare resumes.

Revis is the exception that proves the rule.

He's on a HoF path.

And Norman?

This deal feels very similar to me. Both got paid from their production where they had a great supporting cast. It will be interesting to see how Norman does with a lesser front.

I don't think it's close. Norman was their best DB. Maxwell was Seattle's 4th best DB.

I can't argue with this. It's true that FA should be used very sparingly and we have in recent years. Scott McCloughan has been very frugal this far and he saw a guy that he thinks can help.

This GM has a history of negotiating good deals. Why do we think that this deal will be anything else?

You know the GM doesn't do everything on his own right? You do know he had Jim hardbough and Pete Carroll in san fran and seattle You do know you guys have a history of giving out crazy deals? He had a breakout year on a contract year. This is a classic Danny Snyder move.. You guys are no where close to a Superbowl and you guys could of gotten a good corner in the draft.

I thought he was considered right behind Sherman

He was their 4th best DB in their starting backfield behind Sherman, chancellor and Thomas. The thinking was he looked good because he played next to three studs.

This is the article I had seen......

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...h-norman-agrees-contract-washington/83412404/

I had said 5 for 75 with a little over 30 guaranteed using Jenkins deal as the base....50m is nuts

Good move by the Skins. Scotty Mac is a sound football mind. I have a lot of respect for him. Hate that he ended up in DC though. LOL!

Curious to see how they handle the cap knowing they may have to pay Cousins a ridiculous amount of money as well.

The sour grapes are in full effect. All this mortgaging the future chatter is hilarious. The Skins did no such thing. They will have sufficient cap space after this season even with Norman.

Some of you haven't been paying attention to what's been going on in Washington.

You can definitely see the sour grapes by some Washington just signed an All-Pro corner that should help their team while the Cowboys haven't signed anyone but average players including they're own because they were affordable. You would have to go all the way back to Deion to find the last time the Cowboys had an All-Pro corner. Once you get past Lee the Cowboys have virtually nothing on defense and one more concussion could retire him.

This has been a bad offseason so far for the Cowboys, Morris is the only signing that might help them and they've lost their entire pass rush what little there was of it with Hardy being gone and DLaw and Gregory suspended for the first 4 games. This could lead to a rough start in 2016 and if it's all put on Romo to have to win games he's not going to stay healthy.

Oh....I'm praying that Jurry is foolish enough to draft a RB that high! I'm praying!

That oline has come back to Earth without Callahan. And guess who's line suddenly got pretty darn good? Lol!

It did? Even without Romo, Dallas running game was superior to the skins.

We weren't going Corner in the draft either way. After furthur reading, it's clear that only 34 mil is guaranteed and there are contract exit ramps at year two and year three. After the third year, the cap hit is 9 and 6 mil respectively. This deal doesn't resemble a Snyder deal in any way.

For what it's worth..

@AlbertBreer
Reality of Commanders CB Josh Norman's deal: 2 yrs, $36.5 million, fully guaranteed; $500K in per-game roster bonuses in '17. Then, options.

Another key for Commanders: By the time McCloughan's draft picks start becoming eligible for 2nd contracts, they can bail from Norman's deal.

I'm not trying to convince anyone it's a good signing, but it's interesting to see some details.

We also got Cedric Thornton who is a huge upgrade over Hayden. We also have the number 4 pick who will get us a premium type player. The team I fear the most in this division is the new York giants. They had so many close games last year including against very good teams they filled up Alot of holes on defense and could get a very good player with the 10th pick.
