Wait…..the BRASS wants to know what will be different??

If Im McCarthy Im asking THEM that same question.

Every other team at least TRIES to improve the roster over the off-season.
If I were McCarthy and knew other teams had interest, I'd tell Jerry to go screw himself with that kind of questioning. McCarthy has made enough money to live more then comfortably and not have to subject himself to the stupidity that just oozes from the owner's office.

To ask McCarthy what will be different while you'll continue to operate in the same manner that has seen the overall roster talent decline the last few years takes some big balls.

I wanted McCarthy fired in January 2024 but honestly, I am find him to be a sympathetic figure at this point given he has to deal with two massive morons who seem intent on ramming the SS Cowboys into an iceberg loaded with mines.

All this was so avoidable. McCarthy should have been gone after GB. We would be one year into a new HC by now.
He should have been, but the Jones’s didn’t want to pay 2 HC’s this past year.
It’s ALWAYS about the money.

True but McCarthy play calling is bad, his attention to small details is awful, and his discipline allowing penalties is even worse
You can’t judge a book by its cover, but a big
slob rarely has an eye for the details or discipline.

Actually my eyes and many others eyes are not wrong your opinion may differ 'cause you're trying to blame the wrong person but in the end it still wasn't good the execution sometimes is the product of the play calling and the schemes and the lack thereof in this case there was none first half of last year first half of this year both looked the same couldn't win couldn't come up with anything creative until it was too late luckily last year Prescott and lamb bailed him out..

All the proof you need is Rico dowdle Turpin just to name a few but the starting offensive line all that stuff didn't get going until late in the year when it was too late and that was all on the coach sorry but whether to play Rico how much to play him should have been discovered long before week 8 but if the Pittsburgh steeler game was an indication after that he should have got handed the ball no less than 20 * a game Turpin should have been used as a scat back on 3rd down you know the way they use lamb a little too much he's banged up but if you wanted some flash and dash from the backfield Turpin would have been a good guy hell I'm still a supporter of Vaughn even though he wouldn't have been a big supporter 'cause he does a lot of the stuff Turpin does too little too late that's Mike McCarthy he plays not to lose instead of playing to win he doesn't have to kill her instinct he doesn't have the aggressive nature to try to out scheme and outmaneuver the defensive coordinators and by the time he realizes his mistakes it's too late.....

it's right there in the bullet point I'm believing they're probably discussing the offensive staff who's gonna call plays who might be the new offensive coordinator maybe Mike McCarthy doesn't wanna give that up maybe that's what they're debating because if I have to live with the fact that Mike McCarthy's gonna be back I don't want him as the offensive coordinator either if I'm Jerry I'm arguing that point and then they gotta figure out who they might hire you know who's gonna be the offensive staff because I think we need a new staff offensive line codes offensive coordinator play caller all that let Mike McCarthy be the head coach again I don't want it but if I have to live with it I'm OK with that...
Weirdly JJ wanted him to be the OC right?

Theres zero indication McCarthy is back - in fact Jones may be asking him to take a pay cut.

If the Cowboys take two weeks to bring McCarthy back, it will tell me nothing will ever change with this organization. Jerry wants to make sure his front office, players, family, and friends are comfortable. You can’t run a NFL team like that if you want to win. What is scary for me is the Eagles are more likely to fire their head coach that took their team to the Super Bowl two seasons ago and has never missed the playoffs. Move on from Hurts then we are likely to give up on Dak. Sad day in Dallas if they bring back McCarthy.

“Saleh has 2 HC interviews”.

And “ brass wants to know what will be different “

Ah yeah you have 100 million tied up in 2 players on offense and the best you can do is 60 yard FG’s and for five years your one of the most heavily penalized teams in football .

I don't know... this is only one article, but it looks like it's going to be status quo imo and as long as the numbers don't look like a total undercut, I don't see JJ putting forth any addl effort in trying to find a replacement and instead bringing back MM. JJ is definitely in that realm of it's easier to keep him than to go look for a replacement cause we're lazy and still can be a winning team regardless if that means anything as far as the playoffs.

She reports:

  • There are players going to Jones in advocation for MM.
  • Brass wants to know what will be different.
  • Hopes something can be done before the 14th
br

I told y'all it was obvious the players were playing hard to win the last 2 months to keep Mike McCarthy. Now, it's been verified.

Agree. At this point I like McCarthy as a HC, but they need to just move on if they can't get this figured out. No reason a HC who has been with you for 5 years you cant make a quick decision on. It just makes all parties involved look weak, and even if he does return as HC it gives the impression to players and other coaches that the Cowboys were never fully on board with McCarthy.
I’m not at all surprised it’s not done quickly since Jerry expects him to sign an “incentive based” contract. That’s delusional and ridiculous.

Jerry will bend right over for his jersey selling players after milking the media attention, but coaches? No. This could really go either way. After all, HE can do it. Why should he pay a lot for it?

Either way it’s just a mess. MM had five years to improve on Garrett and couldn’t, yet didn’t get FO cooperation, and it’s an actual debate as to bringing him back instead of trying to improve the situation overall.

It’s not about whether or not they think MM is the right HC, but how much they have to pay him……also because our “GMs” are too busy philandering, booking events, landing acting roles, counting nickels, etc…..nah I shouldn’t be pissed off as a fan. Not at all.

His playcalling is excellent considering the massive limitations of his QB.

Well you're entitled to your opinion but I'm telling you my opinion is he's a below average offensive coordinator and it is a big problem his game plans his play calling the first eight games of both the last two seasons have been about his elementary vanilla and playing type philosophy that I don't like... So you can keep jumping all over the front office I saw it differently I saw Jekyll and Hyde two years in a row it took till mid season the year before and it took losing most of your players this year for him to start getting creative start to create the run game choose the right players I mean I don't know what you been watching but you must hate Jerry an awful lot to overlook how bad Mike McCarthy's been...
Playcalling critiques from fans are always hilarious.

Those players advocating for McCarthy need to be let go also.

Those players want a no accountability locker room.

Those players make the team worse.

Those players are why this is a loser organization.
Exactly!! Any player or coach who find the last 5 yrs acceptable isn't here to win anything. 1 WC win. There's been no moving closer to the goal of winning a championship. Anyone on the team advocating for MM are simply guys who are comfortable being average and not accountable for mistakes.

I’d suspect Jerry is delusional as to how many would line up for the Dallas HC job, plus the recent “incentive based” crap, and the long list of other negatives you’re well aware of.

I hope he blows this. He isn’t doing any better than McCarthy for several reasons, but keeping him also probably keeps the team in perpetual 6-9 win territory instead of crashing and burning, which is what needs to happen if eventually being competitive for championships is on one’s agenda.

Absolutely no way this brass wants to know anything from anyone. They don't care about winning. And I'm sick and tired of all our players always advocating for the puppet coach who doesn't hold anyone accountable.
