Jourdain Lewis was horrible

I am confused. I look at the box score and I see the Cowboys gave up 269 yards to one of the best offenses in the league. The Eagles average only 4.6 yards per pass and 132 net passing yards. That's a solid performance.

The offense put them in a hole by not scoring in the first half and throwing 3 INTs.

Not to mention Philly started with very good field position for some of those scores

right blame defense that was on the field like 20mins in the first half and all seasons had to play with their hair on fire to squeak out wins..not one guy should be blamed on defense. the O was Offensive. It adds up over time and the clock ran out on Rush and this 17-20 point vanilla offense. you can't have defense on the field that long over and over trying to chase a mobile qb with great run game and smart enough to move the pocket, still what Hurts had 155 yards passing most were underneath spring outs with mobile pocket.... ask a defense to keep running sideways that much and we see its tough day.

the offense was as expected and i picked our team to lose , if Dak would have played i would have picked them to win. that's the edge we had in this division our QB is the best in the division regardless how well Hurts can run and pay this college type offsne. .

we lost because Rush could not get it done, 3 Ints, too many soft batted down slow balls etc etc he missed some WO wrs over the middle chose the dump downs etc

Hes played admirable but the D no way im nitpicking any defensive payers, played with their tongues hanging out and still only gave up 20 going into the late 4th qtr with that crazy 1st half play call and all the 3 an outs and TOS by our offense. they played great in my mind.

they want to find blame elsewhere instead of where it belongs on the offense and Rush, TOP the last month has had our D on the field way too much and yet still made pay after play in the 2nd half.. the offense was offensive

Jourdan Lewis shouted out our high school alma mater, Cass Tech, (who became city champs Friday night) during player intros. I got a kick out of that. He whiffed on an int attempt and looked sluggish at times, but so did Wilson. Even Micah seemed to hesitate on some plays. Not sure he's 100%. The defense was in bad spots all game long and they didn't respond well enough. Run defense needs to get better...today. So while J-Lew could've played better, he was just mirroring his teammates. I hope the D comes back with a vengeance next week. Detroit was held to zero by New England. Look at the film DQ. Let's get back on track. Let's go win with Dak.

I said several weeks ago that rookie DaRon Bland should have been substituted to start over Jourdan Lewis due to speed and quickness difference. I got blasted for the suggestion.

I said the same thing several weeks ago to replace Anthony Barr with Jabril Cox. I got blasted for it as well.

Dan Quinn's decisions has sided with the older and slower players over youth, speed and quickness.

Now we see the result against a talented young and fast team like the eagles.

Guess who was right? o_O
Don't pat yourself on the back too hard. I agree, give Bland a shot. But there is clearly something up with Cox. All that speed and quickness doesn't help if you don't know what they hell you are supposed to do. The fact that Cox can't get on the field tells me that this is most likely the case. So Quinn goes with the vets because they are more likely to be sound in their assignments.

How does anyone know that is the reason why Cox is not on the field? Has Quinn or anyone else said the reason why Cox is not on the field is because he is failing to pickup the playbook and/or his assignments?

Correct. The Eagles offense did not win that game.

I don't know, but I think it is a safe assumption. The injury should be healed 100% by now, so that's not an excuse. No, it's likely that he just isn't good enough to contribute to the defense at this point.

Lewis sucks, Brown still being on this team is ridiculous, LVE will be gone after this season, DTs are JAGs.

This defense is fools gold outside of the pass rush.
Matt, I've vehemently disagreed with you on various topics in the past, but you just smashed this one 480 ft. to dead center. The ONLY DT making plays on a somewhat consistent basis is OO...we're STILL waiting to see this dominance from Gallimore that he occasionally flashes. Bohanna was drafted to be a fat boy - why aren't they using him to his strength (2-gapping)? I would give Carolina a 1st for Derrick Brown in a heartbeat. Bland seems like he could be a much better Lewis (and DEFINITELY Brown for that matter)...just needs reps.

The same folks that complain when this happens with Dak at the helm are doing EXACTLY what they claim the supposed "Dak Stans" do after a loss, but they don't see the hypocrisy.

How did Quinn's decision work out?

No offense but your conjecture about starting Cox over Barr sounds v similar to everyone wanting McGovern starting over C Williams last year, and we all saw how that turned out. Im guessing DQ and co have seen enough out of Jabril to realize he clearly isnt ready or performing at a higher level than either Barr or Vander Esch just yet. As for Bland, I do think we'll see him get more snaps as the year progresses. Remember, were still only in week 7...

i’m going to ride with the guy who’s transformed our entire defensive identity and trust that he’s making the correct decisions even when things don’t go as planned. i am also skeptical you were “blasted”

I can think of two things Lewis has done. Had a pick his rookie year in a blow out at Denver. Spied Alvin Kamara when we beat the Saints. He’s done literally nothing since his rookie season. Bench him for Bland
