Just watch Anthony Barr. He's slow and late to every play he's responsible for. Jabril Cox is young and much quicker and faster. Don't tell me he wouldn't perform better and get to the ball quicker. For instance, when Jourdan Lewis got injured in pregame and missed out on playing against the Giants, rookie DaRon Bland started in his place and played lights out (3 solo tackles, 2 passes defensed and 1 INT). Two weeks later (this past weekend at the Eagles), Jourdan Lewis was back to starting but played poorly. He looked slow getting to the ball and covering, plus his opponent kept getting open and making catches in front of him. Bland is bigger, quicker, younger and faster, and it showed in his performance against the Giants. Clearly, Dan Quinn is favoring his older veteran players over the more physically gifted but young and inexperienced players, but is that the best decision? I'm not saying to start the young and inexperienced players, but at least alternate them with the veterans right now to get the young players some experience so they can be rolling along as the season moves along.
