Yeah, me too. I have no idea what he's talking about.
if you are not a prime member...in order for your order to qualify for free shipping...your order total has to be $25 or more.
if you are a prime member...you get free shipping regardless of the order total.
i am not a prime member.
therefore to get free shipping on my orders...the total has to be $25 or more.
i don't care...i shop at ebay.
but i do remember...about 8-10yrs ago...the minimum was $15 to qualify for free shipping.
now...FOR NON PRIME MEMBERS...its $25.

Prime pays for itself.
exactly.
i never said prime members had to pay for shipping.
you don't.
but for those of us who are not prime members...to qualify for free shipping...your total has to be $25 or more.
it used to be $15.

They are likely using algorithms to detect suspicious reviews because there have been countless stories of paid reviewers in recent years.

From an algorithm standpoint, there are a variety of things that could have triggered it such as ratio of positive-to-negative reviews, entering X+ reviews in a set time period, entering reviews too quickly after an order, etc.

To be clear, I am not saying any of those are things their algorithm uses, I am just saying that they could have automated triggers like that in place.

Given how many people use Amazon on a daily basis, rather than using those triggers to throw accounts into a review queue, they may automatically remove their reviews and review access, and put the onus on the account owner to contact them about it.

Since most paid reviewers, bots, etc. will likely just move on when that happens, it is quite likely that the people who contact them are legitimate buyers/reviewers so Amazon's support team would only have to focus on likely valid accounts.
That makes a bit of sense because if a human read them, they certainly couldn't see anything nefarious, and I've written too many to read by a person.

Final NON-resolution. They refused to rescind the censor and refused to give me a reason. I have deleted and cancelled everything and it will remain that way. The Reptilian King of Amazon will get no more money from me. Ever. They can keep their cheap $30 bribe to continue. Totally laughable.
Happy Christmas Eve!:D

Everything from products to Prime video, both good and bad, just like everyone else does.
This is very strange because I came across a pretty dark and disturbing review when I was looking for a bread knife. I'm afraid to post it here, but in the end I bought the knife. My humor leans heavily in the inappropriate direction.

That's a logical course of action, as long as they don't mind angering some of their customers. If that's what's happening in this case, explaining it should have been the first thing they did once the customer inquired about it, in my opinion.

You are applying logic to a layered customer support division for a large company which is not commonly used. :D

Most likely the first email response is either automated or one of many form letters sent by a bottom level customer support representative whose main job is to filter or forward.

Amazon is the 500lb gorilla and I must admit I keep feeding them a lot of bananas.

I don't know who comes up with their ideas but they are flat out boffo. I signed up for Prime just for the free shipping because I was buying DC's and DVD's from about 3 sources and once I primed up, one source. Then they raise the price but add the streaming to it and sink another hook into me.

I don't like Bezos but what the hell? I don't like Tim Cook either and Apple has me treed. I dumped ATT after they did the stadium naming rights because they had to fire some people to budget for that and then realized the company I went with wasn't any better and liking DirecTV went back. And I didn't know one of those people they fired so what the hell was I doing?

catiii, you need to talk to a human because Amazon is notorious for automation as soon as they can get in in place. Get those kids busy back to making left shoes in the jungle.

I have all but given up on customer service and when I do encounter it, I am shocked. Apple used to be the best I'd experienced, even having reps call back to make sure I was happy.

I bought a HomePod and don't like it except that it is a good speaker. I wrote a bad review and got an email from them that I should have typed that scathing review on a iMac. Ya just can't win.

Already talked to 3 humans...including a supervisor. My relationship with the Reptilian Lizard King is finished. He can go pound sand. BTW, each chat rep including the "supervisor" had names that were random letters....I am NOT Kidding...you know as if computer generated - but they were real people. This company is just plain evil. I've never encountered a company who treats the customer as an adversary! Besides the censors of twittergooglefacebookyelp but I don't use any of those. However, they demonstrate the same level of in-your-face censorship.
FYI, the Reptilian Lizard King's company is the largest outlet for Chinese goods in the United States. This company is truly Orwellian. Like talking to an unfeeling, inhuman brick wall at each point of contact. Think about that.

At least cash out your $30 first.

Buy something with it. Once it ships, cancel cancel cancel.

Don't throw away free money.

oh!! They finally emailed me with a reason:

Hello,

Your reviews were censored as several suspicious sign ins from other countries were found.

Your account and the reviews will be reinstated soon.

We look forward to seeing you again soon. Stay safe and healthy.
Best regards,

Actually it was only ONE other country. People aren't supposed to travel I suppose but at least they responded.

OK, so you gonna take them up on that $30?

Other countries? Hell, if I get more than an adjacent county away from my home county, BoA won't approve any charges.

But that brings up something I've noticed about reviews, especially on Amazon. Ever noticed how some look a little too similar and the phrasing in some is too close? Every time I read reviews there I get suspicious if they're bogus and planted and how can they differ so much like "greatest product ever created, Jesus would buy this" to "the CEO of this company should be executed"? Then I read some reviews calling out other reviewers with "I don't what put that bug up FatnSassy's butt but this stuff is primo".

I think they should have a box to check off when anyone is writing a review about any product.

I don't trust anyone's opinion if they check that last one. They're just a little too right with the world.

I'll probably take them up on the $30 bucks but will likely spend the 35 minimum to get free shipping as opposed to doing Prime again on a couple necessities I can only get there since I don't have a car and depend on relatives who are far away. Most of their programming really is rubbish AND they charge rental fees on most of the good stuff even with Prime!!! Lots more free programming on youtube these days too even some major films.

I never got on the Amazon bandwagon. Much of the clothing I have purchased was bootleg sourced and had to be returned due to quality issues. A gadget for my guitar showed up as an empty box. The appeal of Amazon is convenience and I just don't have time to be returning their garbage.

Are you sure you’re not confusing eBay with Amazon. I’m not defending Amazon, but I think it’s a pretty established fact a ton of stuff on eBay is bootleg/counterfeit. I don’t see that on Amazon and my wife uses it a ton since the pandemic hit.
