I absolutely would care. Without the fans the NFL does not exist. Plus, I don't believe one person is more important than any other. If I were famous and someone wanted my autograph I would insist on getting theirs in return because I would not see that person as beneath me or less important.
Thank God, the players have thicker skins. Sarcasm, I don’t think anybody is more important than anybody else either.

I think it’s too early in the season for the Cowboys to lay an egg, but eventually they will against a team they’re favored to beat that’s struggling. It happens at least once every season and I doubt this season will be any different. The team will be cruising along and everyone will be talking Super Bowl then out of nowhere they won’t show up for a game and embarrass themselves.
Yup. It happens to everyone. Only two teams have ever gotten through the regular season undefeated.

There'll be a game where the opponent hits on a big play here and falls on a fumble there and hangs around until the 4th quarter and manages to squeak by with a close win. That's how good teams lose to lesser teams, it happens to all of them at some point, and it shouldn't change your opinion of the team very much.

When you start getting blown out in games? That's when you know you're not very good.

Was a great first game. I hope they improve, & get better.

Personally, I won't get too hyped until we're playing in late January.

We can as confident as we like but the Cowboys need to take this Jets team seriously. Classic trap game and one problem I’ve noticed with Cowboys teams since 2000 is they believe in their own hype because they are on the star. Can’t get arrogant and expect to run over the Jets here. This should be a team this Cowboys team beats handily. A loss here and it will be chalked up to attitude and lack of discipline. Destroy the Jets and show the nfl who the super contenders are!
Like I said yesterday, MM needs to keep them in check. This is part of the psychological side of coaching.

Everyone gets beat, I’m talking about not showing up and laying an egg. We took the second half off against Green Bay and Jacksonville last season and we didn’t show up against a bad Washington team and got embarrassed in the season finale. I can accept losing a game when it’s hard fought, but not when the team lacks effort and it leads to an embarrassing performance.

Excellent points and so true. Nothing wrong with SWAGGER and confidence, but don't need arrogance. There is a difference.

Why? All that running success and they scored 16 points lmao.

And that's ignoring the fact that they really only had one good run. Cook and Hall were a combined 22/75 other than the big gainer.
ok let me rephrase. i’m terrified of our inability to stop the run.

What's happen to men in this country? There's threads like this and others that say Micah needs to be humble.

When did men start getting PMS?

I trust the personalities in the locker room to have the right mentality week after week more than any group I can remember.

It's a bit of human nature to get cocky or whatever, but I do think they have a really strong leadership corps of focused, intense guys that they haven't had in a long time.
Same here. Thats why we drafted guys like Mazi, Schoonmaker Overshown, Fehoko...even guys like Moreno Cropper...all high character guys.

Matchups are mirror image in some ways. Our D versus their Oline. Their D versus our O line. Our Oline is better than theirs .... but Quinnen & Co. will be a handful. Pretty much everything else should be in our favor .... but we will need to be able to run the ball and keep passes away from Sauce and his running mates. TE's will need to catch balls this week.

That's exactly right. The Jets ain't garbage. In fact, they proved Monday night that they have an excellent defense, and their special teams ain't to shabby. That was enough to beat a very good Bills team. I would be even more concerned if Rodgers hadn't been injured, but this Jets team does have a chance to win. However, I'm confident that our coaching staff will put together a good game plan and will show up ready to play. I like our chances, but there ain't no gimmes.
...
Even our 1971 team that won their first Super Bowl lost to the lowly Saints that year. For those of you too young to remember, the Saints were a terrible team back then. Not that I'm calling the Jets terrible. They have some good abilities.

I don't think this is a trap game per say, but I do worry that the players might be eating up all the praise all week about their performance and not focused on this weeks gameplan, they have done this several times in the past after a convincing win.

This will be a great test for McCarthy to see if he can manage expectations and keep the team from feeling itself too much. Perfect 'trap game' that we usually drop after a big win. We're going in against a tough, physical defensive team that just lost it's qb and that gives room to think this can be a game in which we 'take it easy'.

This game will be important in giving us information on whether or not the team has 'turned the corner' on a critical problem we've had, which is complacency after a big win.

One reason I really like bringing a guy like Gilmore here is that he's been on championship teams, so he knows that consistency matters. Hopefully he can help the younger guys realize that you have to bring it every game and not 'take it easy' because you think the opponent is weak. Consistency is of utmost importance because in the playoffs, you will have to win a minimum of 3 games in a row.

Lol, coach...Coaches run their teams! That's his leadership skills - direction. For Mike McCarthy, this is year four and all is kicking in here and now.

We better get our luggage checked.
