Just in, roy williams gone on vacation missing OTAs

Yes.. Picking one of six would be defined as selective. Seriously? You had to ask that?

Wow....[/quote]

They all said the same thing.

"Poor Roy, such a victim, can't win......."

You keep up the good work though.

I'm not rooting for him to fail, but I think he's accomplishing that feat by his own actions.

Yet you are championing Matt Jones cause?? Lol.

While I may be disappointed in Roy not being at the OTA this week I do have high hopes that he can become the intimidating force he has shown in the past. I think the return of Campo as the secondary coach is going to be a good thing for Roy

I absolutely hope that you're right.

What does one have to do with the other?

Not much. Just think it's funny that you are pushing out one bum and waving the banner for another. Sorry... was I suppossed to have a Roy comment in my post? I thought 14 pages was enough of Roy comments. My bad..

I think, once again, people are missing the real point.

The primary issue with Roy is that of lack of preparation and focus. There are grumblings within Valley Ranch regarding it. It has already been made known, through Greg Ellis, that he had reservations with the scheme. He has already admitted that his play dropped, and that one more year in the scheme will allow for the big hits to come, so his supporters should wait. Hitting the weight room early in the morning, jumping up and down the pool does not address the mental issues that are a major problem with Roy.

The point is, Roy knows that all eyes are focused on him. His own coaches had to call him in to address the latest grumblings. Roy was just in a situation where he stated that he has re-dedicated himself.

Yet, he goes on vacation when the OTAs are happening, when all eyes are on him regarding his play. A chance to mentally prepare himself for the game and he doesn't think to himself, maybe I should re-schedule the vacation. The guy just isn't the smartest tool in the shed. If an employer knows that his boss is singling him out in particular for his performance, he is going to make every effort to put in extra time and energy into improving his performance...

If Matt Jones is missing Jacksonville's OTA's let me know and I'll criticize him too.

Otherwise I don't think one has anything to do with the other.

Since when did our mods start allowing crap like this ? Moron ? Blowhard losers ? You do your sissy little name calling because people have a different opinion than you ?
Is this your first time on this board ? Name calling has been going on for some time. Oh, and it's both sides of the Roy fence that slings it.

I agree with Jimmy actually.

A better forum with less name-calling was one of the reasons I came here. I used to go to the Ranch.

If this forum turns to what that one has become, I'll have to find yet another place to converse.

I am willing to give Roy another shot assuming he can get hungry again. He is like a worker who is not engaged and essentially " quits on the job but stays". This by far will be Campo's biggest challenge. If Roy is willing be make the committment, he can be asset again. I'm not saying he should ine up in man coverage, but I think Roy will suprise us this year with better play. Hope I am right.

Good post khiladi and pretty much echoes my thoughts on the issue.

I also can't help but feeling, if this were any other player, this thread would have a decidedly different, and heavily one-sided spin to it.

We don't allow namecalling, but you guys have to report it. With massive threads like this, posts get lost in the wash and the mods miss it.

Complaining IN the thread about it, doesn't help us. Shoot any of us a PM or click the triangle under the name to report the post.

If it was any other thread, it probably wouldn't be as large or as heated.

Would folks really care if Miles Austin missed a day or two? Yes. But to the level shown in this thread? probably not.

I bet you Roy knows what he is doing,as far his play is concern,I leave it up to the coaches to put Roy in position to make plays. They no what he can and cannot do.Roy is a great player and person.Hang in there Roy!

I think Crayton missing would get a similar amount of negative reaction - at least from me.

I put both of those guys in my personal 'something to prove' file.

I don't think it would be even close to the intensity if it was any other player. In fact I think most players it would be a blurb and move on.

How many times has it been posted that the team excused him? Totally ignored.

Precisely, have had the same sentiment/take on this...Apologists will have you believe, well it's only OTAs...Realists who aren't choking on the kool aid see it for what it is, yet another in a long line of disturbing signs that Roy simply doesn't 'get it'

It hasn't been ignored, it's just that "excused", IMO, is not a good excuse.

It is for the team though.

Rant on.

I would care and would heatedly debate the topic with myself ad nauseum right in the Zone! ;)
