Jerry Jones on #Cowboys fans expecting more: "I don't expect them to think any differently. We push it out there. We build up expectations."
Jerry Jones asked by @rjchoppy if #Cowboys are living off their 90s brand: "No. The Cowboys are living the brand. We're making the brand."
Jerry Jones: #Cowboys offensive line has been playing well. "Tony's got plenty of time to make the throws."
Jerry Jones on Morris Claiborne: "He's just got to get his confidence up. We know what kind of player he is, what kind of athlete he is."
Jerry Jones on Dez Bryant: "He can make that catch with two people on him. You throw him the ball when he's double-covered."
Jerry Jones: "Dez is going. He's blowing and going. He's doing a great job. He's a far better player than he was at this time last year."

Clarence Hill ‏@clarencehilljr 51m
Jerry jones on radio: You might be able to get in there with 9-7 and 9-7 may win you the world championship. That's the NFL of today.
Jones on romo's Peyton manning input: He is a lot more involved. He was a lot more involved than he ever thought about being in years past.
Jerry on Romo: When you're basically serving it up, you recognize where you want to and don't want to take risks. So he's more conservative
Jerry Jones on Dez: You throw him the ball when he's double covered. He's been throwing to him when it's double coverage. You can do that.
More Jerry Jones on Romo: I like the way Romo is playing, really like the way he is playing.
one of the worst things to happen to this organization is when the giants won the super bowl with the 9-7 regular season record. ever since then jerry is obsessed with replicating that here. i mean i've heard him bring that stupid team up at least a dozen times the last few years.

I love how RJ Choppy says we aren't good because of our depth.

Who in the NFL has depth? Please tell me about these deep teams?

BTW it's a bummer listening to Jerry. He sounds like some of these die hard Cowboy homers on this forum that accept mediocrity from this franchise.

Seems like people want to blame Jerry for everything but never the coaches. Nobody has ever said this team isnt talented, it lacks players. This team has the players. What gets this team is lack of fundamentals. The OL is playing better but still has wrong timed penalties. The same with Defense. Penalties at the wrong times kill drives and keep drives alive for opponents. Thats bad coaches. Not Jerry. And i had hopes of this offense changing under Callahan. But it just seems like Garrett part 2. It just seems like there are 10 plays in Garretts playbook. Def, clearly this team isnt a zone defense personel-wise. I have to believe they still have no confidence in their safeties.

BUT the biggest problem, and it has nothing to do with Jerry. None of the vets want to step up into the leader role. Romo, Witten, Ware, Hatcher, Carr, Dez. This team reminds me alot of the Dodgers at the start of the season. All the talent but no leaders. When a team punches back at the Cowboys they dont have that player who punches back. It just seems like they fold. Im starting to think this wont change until Romo Witten and Ware are gone. If i was Jerry id get rid of them and start over with some Nasty vets. Lee looks like he's going to end up as that guy but hes not there yet. The Cowboy vets have them same mentality of we just have to find whats wrong and fix it. Theres next week.

Whats disgraceful is fans who think Jerry would rather lose then win. Jerry in basically 2 yrs has remade a whole team. There are maybe 10-13 players who have been on this team more than 3 yrs. I think if this keeps going on this yr win lose win lose. Lovie Smith might be getting a call. During the season and not after

Like so many say over & over the one constant with this team is Jerry. He is to blame. If he'd stay in the bookkeeping dept & let a football guy run the team as GM maybe we'd win more.

Yeah I kind of feel the same way you do about Romo, Witten, and Ware specifically. These three are the leaders and 3 of the top 5 players on the team and they talk a good game but don't back it up on the field. It is getting late in all 3 of their careers and i'm just not seeing the sense of urgency with any of them. I really want to break up this team late last season but they started showing some signs against Cincy and Pitt but man I don't know how long you can go with these core guys and see the same results every year. At some point you have to start thinking about your future QB and other areas for this team.

You don't like the argument that the 2011 NYFG won it all at 9-7? How 'bout 2007 10-6 Giants, then? Or the 2012 10-6 Baltimore Ravens? Or the 2010 10-6 Green Bay Packers? Is it enough to just get there? I know we're Dallas Cowboys fans and all and we expect to get to the dance *and* have a 12-4 record in the process, but the 2008 9-7 Arizona Cardinals probably don't feel too badly about that Superbowl season in retrospect.

Like it or not, 10-6 and 9-7 can get you, not just to the preseason, but all the way to the Superbowl in this league. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging an obvious truth.

You cant break up a team thats been remade tho. If There is one guy who you can get rid of easily out of the 3. Its Ware. But the question then becomes who do you get? player/s? Or a high Draft pick to get a guy like Clowny?

just an fyi, Jerry has still not been seen on the video board during a game since he was booed against the giants last year.

unless I missed him on the screen this year which is absolutely possible.

Not one person in the media in a year has asked him Why Himself or Jason garrett are not shown on the video board during games anymore after getting absolutely booed by 90000 vs the giants last year.

That's funny. I had not heard about the booing.

What I'm saying is it's getting close to the time to breaking up this core group of players. This core group doesn't seem to have that will that is needed for a championship level team.

In your mind, there really is some connection between having a message board fit and 'not accepting mediocrity,' isn't there? I always struggle to believe that people think this way, but there's too much evidence for it not to be the case. Acting surprised and upset every season is not 'keeping the flame alive' for the rest of us, Catch. At some point you have to stop and take a look at the rest of the league, take a look at the other organizations, take a look at what the league is consciously trying to achieve with the decisions it makes, and arrive at the conclusion that this is the way things are, and it's the way things are going to be for the foreseeable future for any NFL fan. Holding Your Breath for Excellence starts to look like sort of a silly idea eventually, doesn't it?

I have no doubt what-so-ever that J.J. has a passion for winning. The problem is that his passion for winning takes a back seat to his passion for money and his passion to stroke his very large ego.

I look at the rest of the league and there are teams that are good year in and year out.

The Cowboys are pretty mediocre year in and year out.

2 things seperate the mediocrity from the good teams. Quarterbacking and Coaching.

There is no reason for the Dallas Cowboys to not have the best coaches money can buy.

A guy like Jason Garrett should've earned his stripes with a team like the Rams or Dolphins before he gets one of the best jobs in all of sports.

I don't believe this team has been put in the best position to win since Parcells walked out the door and I do believe that hiring Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett probably cost us a Superbowl somewhere in the last 7 years.

Come on bro. The NFL is all about parity. Surely, you don’t expect the Cowboys to be one of the elite teams of the league? Jerry gave you a brand new stadium. The TV ratings are off the charts. Have you checked Forbes recently? Cowboys are doing perfectly fine. Relax and enjoy the ride. When you piss and moan, it ruins our lovely afternoon.

I agree with most of this. Garrett was handed the keys to a Ferrari at age 16 without ever having to drive a clunker to gain experience driving. As for Wade, I liked him. He wasn't the best HC but this team could have certainly done worse. He only had one losing season(2010) and got this team that one playoff win in 17 years along with another playoff appearance. He also got this team to a 13 and an 11 win season. Oh, he also won the division twice. Garrett has not come close to accomplishing that.

And the team quit on him. Or appeared to anyway. I've never seen an interview either from Wade or a player addressing that.
