Just say no if he's there at 26

On a side note, DT Scott Appleton was with Texas when they beat Navy in the Cotton Bowl - with Roger Staubach leading them. The same draft then took both Roger Staubach and Bob Hayes.

When Dallas was run by Hank Stram, he brought computers into the NFL. Dallas then drafted Appleton and traded him two weeks later. It took 6 hours for them to draft Mel Renfro who was a running back at the time.

If Robinson is there at 10, they would be truly fools not to take him...and the media is starting to see his addition and what it would mean for the Eagles. That, or stupid is as stupid does...
Smokescreen perhaps

Roger was in DaNang where he received footballs and play books. One of his footballs was blown up by a mortar round. (outside the box before there was a box)

I have no idea why anyone would want to draft a running back in the first round? In today's NFL you want longevity with your first pick and drafting a running back isn't it. It's very rare that an NFL running back is going to have the same impact and effectiveness during his second contract (if he even gets one) like he did in his first. There are so many better options there so if the Cowboys were smart in the first round (they've done very well here btw) they will pass on Bijan Robinson, who is a very good running back but the Cowboys will do so much better in the long run with an offensive lineman. Connor McGovern's spot hasn't been filled so an O-line at 26 would make a lot of sense, especially with all the good O-lineman that they've drafted in the past in the first round then maybe take a running back on day two or three.
Gibbs....

He wont make it to 26, but if he does I would be pretty sad if the Cowboys passed. This whole idea that you can't take an RB because they wont last for a 2nd contract is ridiculous. I get not making a Zeke mistake again and missing out on a Jalen Ramsey that high, but at 26 you may not even have a 1st round grade on anyone when you pick aside from the RB that fell to you.

I'm not skipping over a top RB in fears that I'll have to let him walk in 5 years so that I can instead reach for another Taco Charleton or Mike Jenkins towards the end of the 1st round that I'll be looking to cut after 3.

If we had a top 10 pick I would look at it differently, but this is the 26th over selection. Just draft your board. If you like the player and can get them on the field then you draft them. Don't overcomplicate things by worrying about 2028
Agree…I’m not overly in the tank for Robinson or Gibbs or RB in rd 1 but based on the talent in this draft and where were are picking…I don’t think we could get more bang for our pick from anyone else. I don’t see any DTs that excite me, most of the top CBs will be gone…there are some good OL but ours isn’t that bad already. I do view Robinson and Gibbs as top 5 and 8 players respectively in the entire draft so getting one at 26 becomes easier. We aren’t talking to 5 or 10 or even 20.
