Just say no if he's there at 26

The Bijan crowd would love to have him here.
But who would block for him?
I want a rebuilt O line that can open holes for Pollard and Davis.
With Terence Steele signing his contract...the offensive line can now look like: RT Tyron Smith 6-5 320 32 13; RG Zach Martin 6-4 315 32 10; C Tyler Biadasz 6-3 316 25 4; LG Terence Steele 6-6 310 25 4; LT Tyler Smith 6-6 332 22 2

Current depth includes: Josh Ball 6'8" 304 24 3 yr; Chuma Edoga 6'3" 308 25 5 yrs; Brock Hoffman 6'4" 302 23 1; Alex Taylor 6-8 301 25 2; Matt Waletzko 6-8 305 23 2.
This backup group is 25 or younger and will provide reasonable competition and a lot of experience at the tackle position.

All of this group of tackles are 6-5 or taller. The backup group has 3 who are 6-8.

The Cowboys need a strong developmental/starter within a year's time, for guard. That can be either a tackle or present guard.

This positional group is very strong as well as deep on the current roster.

Now, the scheme has turned to a break-away running back positional unit. The currrent offensive line will be able to support this style very well. The team now needs a break out pair of running backs that will put high pressure on opposing defense...both at running the ball and in receiving.

The team actually needs either Robinson or Gibbs. Either of these two added to Tony Pollard, would give Dak Prescott with an intense offense both in passing and running the ball.

Throw in a quality tight end, and the Dallas offense will be able to go up against any other offense in the NFL.

If I were Jerry, this time I would pay the price to move up, even if a future pick, and secure one of Robinson or Gibbs.

It's time not to lose to a team held to only 19 points, again!

If Robinson was still there at 12. I would pay for a trade with Houston, even with a significant pick in 2024.

I don't think he gets past 15. So, for me, the talk of him at 26 is just a pipe dream. Now if the conversation is what if he's there at 15, will Jerry try to make a move up. That's a more realistic discussion.

I have no idea why anyone would want to draft a running back in the first round? In today's NFL you want longevity with your first pick and drafting a running back isn't it. It's very rare that an NFL running back is going to have the same impact and effectiveness during his second contract (if he even gets one) like he did in his first. There are so many better options there so if the Cowboys were smart in the first round (they've done very well here btw) they will pass on Bijan Robinson, who is a very good running back but the Cowboys will do so much better in the long run with an offensive lineman. Connor McGovern's spot hasn't been filled so an O-line at 26 would make a lot of sense, especially with all the good O-lineman that they've drafted in the past in the first round then maybe take a running back on day two or three.
Sorry but quit reading after your first sentence.
First round is a long round, you need to be a bit more specific with tiered 1st rounds projections rather than bold assumptions of draft rounds vs draft slot.
Making bold projections like that have cost GMs their jobs in this league.

Get used to the fact that Bijan will be a Cowboy if he’s there at 26. Luckily for you the chance he makes it that far is about 2%.
You so crazy, BR is not dropping past 15, not at you.
Cant believe I just used an emoji

That was a result of very poor play calling.
Accomplishing team victories isn't finding a single blaming point, but improving points of execution. Sports change and adapt....but scoring more than an average 19 points can be accomplished in a variety of ways. With the current Cowboys. I'm
not trying to instead placing a stereotyping past blame on identifying possible and growing strengths here and now.

Here, high lighting a defense that should hold opponents to an average of 19 points and an offense full of players who can break open for big plays. Increase big play makers and the pressure will increase on opponents. I am in no way afraid of managing a bunch of big play makers in both the running and passing parts.

Let’s see. If Bijan is there when we are on the clock at 26, there is absolutely zero doubt that he will be the BPA by a huge margin…fact. We are going to look for a RB to take over Zeke’s role, knowing that Pollard is not a big volume RB….fact. Let fans want to pass on him. Makes no sense to me. At 26, we will be drafting a second round talent at any other position. You can get 5-6 years of heavy production from a great RB who will make a difference for your offense without ever giving him a second contract. If he walks for some big contract after that, it means he was a super star, and it means you’ll get a nice comp pick in return. That’s great use and a decent return on pick #26 in my opinion.

No way do I draft any of these WRs in round 1. Unless one of the top CBs is there, I’m not drafting the diminutive Forbes As there are good prospects later. No way do I draft a TE in round one. There’s plenty of depth there. I might consider a DT, but we know Dallas won’t. We have plenty of edge guys who need to see the field this year. I would draft a physical OT who can play T or G.
The quality at most positions just don’t justify passing on a great RB at 26.

You don't want just longevity.

In fact, talent and immediate impact are more important than longevity in the first round.

It's OK to take a special talent, who will only be special for 4 years and an average player for 1, in the first round every 8 or 9 years.

On the exact same page, but we will draft a really good TE there.

My wish is for the defense. I want some bad mutha(shut your mouth) to come in, mean, nasty but right in the mind, no thugs allowed! lol. In my mind I think the offense will be just fine, but the defense needs some road graders in the middle.

All everyone does around this forum lately is talking about the offense, but when the game all goes to hell, they get the blame. I want a defense that will intimidate the other team across the line thinking to them selves, your not getting our QB but we are coming after yours right away! Then the offense can do their thing.

They got worn out last season because of the offense and QB.
"They got worn out last season because of the offense and QB."........this last statement by you defeats all your talk about draft defense lol.
