That's funny because I would take Blalock over Grubbs and Beekman (Yanda too) but would definitely take Hall and Revis over Ross. Not McCauley (burnt toast) but definitely the other two.

I had Ross and Revis neck and neck but went back and watched more Pitt games and Revis dropped substantially in my book.

Hall's the first rounder most likely to bust. He's just not very good. Slow change of direction, plays the QB more than his man, and was schooled by almost every first day of the draft caliber player he went up against the last two years.

Your board looks conspicuously like most internet draft boards. Do you watch players for yourself or just what you read on the internet?

Once a player enters the NFL Draft, his alma mater becomes irrelevant. It is no longer about that he played football at UT but rather that he is a damn good NFL prospect at a need position (assuming we don't fill the spot in free agency) who might still be available when we pick. It's really not that hard to understand if you just take off the Longhorn-hating glasses.

;)

Oh and Blalock is the "third or fourth best guard prospect?" Name two or three Offensive Guards in this draft who are better prospects.

I agree Rough. With Starr, Stabler and Namath it's a wonder that Brodie Croyle went in the 3rd last year

And after Larry Johnson's season last year, think anyone won't pull the trigger on a Penn State back on day one (Hunt especially)?

He measured in at a shade over 6'3" and weighed 320. He did 40 reps of 225. He would lockdown a guard spot for us for a decade or so.

Those numbers ought to help reverse the "slide" he was in after the Senior Bowl...

Blalock will probably be drafted somewhere between pick 20 and pick 50... this is about where he was projected to go before the Senior Bowl...

As a long-time, devoted Horns fan, it's my opinion that Blalock is the best offensive lineman to come out of Austin in a long, long time... this includes bigger names like Leonard Davis and Mike Williams... I'd be quite happy if the Boys ended up drafting him...

I kinda like center Lyle Sendlein in the later rounds, but am not as high on guard Kasey Studdard...

I think he'll go in the 18-40 range. The workouts are just starting, and other people are going to put up great numbers too (wait until Manny Ramirez puts up his bench numbers).

Seems Manny did 40 reps too... good for him, he's another favorite of mine...

Im no Longhorn fan, but the entire draft community must be comprised of Longhorn fans, because I've seen Blalock projected as a first round draft pick since he was a sophomore.

Why would anyone want to take the third or fourth best guard prospect with the 22nd pick?

Maybe in the second round.

And for gawd's sake, can't people take off the Longhorn glasses for a month or two before the draft?

As opposed to guys like you, who automatically assume that any player who has ever worn burnt orange is "overrated"...

Every year, you Horns haters flock to trash the top-rated UT draft prospects; last year, all we heard was how overrated Vince Young was... of course, he was so overrated that he "only" won the Offensive Rookie of the Year...

Ya know old friend, Texas homerism is the only weakness you have, you're way too intelligent for that, but the single brain cell minions take their cue from you.

It is possible to have a low opinion of a Longhorn player and not be a "hater", just like it's possible to be a fan of the team and not think every player in their lineup is the greatest ever. You should try it sometime.

Oh, I have a few others, but this is a PG rated board, so perhaps we shouldn't go into them here...

Perhaps, but there are so many out there who are most assuredly witless Horns haters that it's difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff...

Actually, every year there are Longhorns draft prospects that I would not want the Boys to pursue... this year, I'm not real big on Kasey Studdard or Selvin Young (aka the Fumble Machine)... I'm also rather leery of Michael Griffin, given the rather disappointing senior campaign he had...
