I don't hate Dez but I do feel that with Dak Prescott at QB he is wasted. I would like to see him traded or cut and apply the cash elsewhere where it won't be wasted. It's not Dez's fault but it still is what it.

The defenses issues are more far reaching that Lee being out. Sure he is the straw that stirs the drink but this scheme is supposed to be easy and yet our back 7 players repeatedly are out of position. No S or LB ever seems to be helping and everyone is on an island. Anthony Brown has regressed hard in this environment. 3/4th of what Rivers was able to do was against Brown.

It baffles me why they won't even try Awuzie. It is starting to remind me of Wade Phillips sticking with the likes of Anthony Ball and other scrubs and ensuring players jobs they are not meriting with their play. Sure maybe Awuzie is worse but he may also be better and that is a better gamble than the status quo.

We are in a bit of a pickle. Garrett is not a bad coach. His players are motivated, he has an eye for talent in the draft, and he for the most part develops players. OTOH, he is dependent on his coordinators on both sides of the ball and they struggle to deviate from the gameplan.

The only replacement that I have seen that even somewhat intrigues me is Harbaugh. He would be able to work with a QB like Dak and our running game but he ran a 3-4 and the idea of rebuilding the defense does not sit overly well with me. Then of course one has to wonder if he wants to put up with the Jones' Circus in the metroplex.

In short there are no easy quick fixes. A replacement level coach is not going to upgrade Garrett and there are issues with depth and talent at multiple positions on both sides of the ball. Firing Garrett midseason accomplishes nothing and could serve to create even more problems.
