Right now, we do suck. In Fact, we’ve reached levels of suckage only seen once before in franchise history and that was in 1960. You may believe the suckage is due entirely to bad luck and/or uncontrollable mitigating circumstances, but we undoubtedly suck at the moment.

Been around and a fan since then, and agree with your assessment. Difference is we were building towards something, not declining into obscurity, and had a HC who actually could scheme the game on both sides of the ball.

Never saw Landry clap in all his years either..... Jimmy J may have when something went well, but never saw him clap otherwise. Positive Motivation is one thing, sometimes Fear is a better vehicle.....

#1 – We don’t suck.

#2 – We got beat today by Phillip Rivers and there is no shame in that. He played a tremendous game.

#3 – The biggest key to our defense is Sean Lee and we don’t win without him.

#4 – The second biggest key to our defense is Zeke running the ball and that was missing as well.

Dez Bryant is not the problem. He caught 3 of his 5 targets, missed one on a good breakup by the DB and the fifth wasn’t a good pass. He’s becoming the Brandon Carr of the offense, a guy people hate because of his paycheck.

Dak Prescott is not the problem. He is a very good young QB with elite leadership that is halfway through his second season. Still a long ways to go on the learning curve. It took Tony Romo two seasons (after 3 years on the bench) to learn to throw the ball away instead of taking a sack. The last three games have been the first time he had to mount a comeback without Zeke and he still has to figure out that he can’t thrown a 15 point touchdown on one play. Its understandable from 24 year old QB.

I’m not going to go into a lot of detail on the game, but let me point something out. I don’t believe the refs are out to get Dallas. For years I have been a guy posting here that the calls even out and when you do see slanted calls, its to keep the score close. The reason for that is that is to maximize the advertising dollars coming into the NFL. The only time I’ve seen a game completely taken away by the Refs was the Steelers/Seahawks Super Bowl, which was blatant.

But did you feel this game had way too many bad calls at critical moments? When Dak broke into the open on his TD run, I thought “they will throw a flag”. They did, and it was a call you can make on every play in every NFL game. Then when the Chargers threw the TD pass to put the game out of reach, I rewound several times to check and two of the four Dallas lineman were held worse than what Tyron did.

When is the last time an opposing OL was called for holding?

Was La’el Collins holding Bosa or did they just want to bring that play back?

When Witten was slung to the ground, that has been called Unnecessary Roughness since they were playing in leather helmets. Why wasn’t it called?

Last week Dez took a violent hit almost two steps out bounds with no flag. This time they called a small chuck out of bounds on Jones to make sure the Chargers would be inside the 10 and pull ahead. Why the difference?

While I’m asking questions, is there some possible reason the NFL Front Office could have a beef with the Cowboys? It’s a real head scratcher.
#1 WE DO SUCK, right now! I agree with some of what your saying but you don’t mention the #1 reason we suck right now. The coaching staff, especially Garrett. We don’t need a cheerleader as our head coach, we need a head coach who helps put his players in position to make plays! This team can be turned around over night with excellent coaching and game planning. Look at the Rams. With basically a coaching change they went from the worst offense in 2016 to one of the best in 2017.

There was an early play in the game, I believe it was an option, where Dak called a play to the left and Romo said the original play was meant to go right and Dak made a mistake, because it was there and open.

It was just comment in the flow of the game.

How much is this actually on Prescott’a Pre-snap reads?

No, I wish the Cowboys were enjoying the success the Vikings are enjoying right now. But since that can't happen, I'll have to settle with enjoying the season vicariously through my hometown guy, Case Keenum.

But why?

According to you nothing is wrong with the Cowboys. It's just fake "hysteria" and faux sky is falling type stuff.

Wondering what is @Idgit s excuse for Garrett because he always says "the running game is not important " so that can't be the excuse then

So what is it?

I say 5.8 YPP and 2 picks and -2 TO v. 434 yards for 13.2 per pass plus 3 TD and no INT gets you beat.

You should be able to read a box score well enough to not have to ask that question, dude.

So what your saying is teams aren’t worried about Zeke anymore and they can just let Dak choke, meaning even when Zeke isn’t running the threat of him running is impacting the passing game...

There is no question that missing Zeke is a BIG deal. He's the only player on the offense that teams worry about. Maybe they worry about Dak running, but Zeke is it. Our WRs are average possession WR that are no threat deep. Our offense is vanilla with no creativity. Just line up and try to beat us mentality. Our defense is terrible with no pass rush and a secondary that looks lost and guys that can't tackle or take bad angles to tackle. The only thing we got going for us is our kicking game. Dak and Zeke together is a good duo, but Dak is not Romo. We can't win with this system with just Dak and this core of guys we have. We so badly need another guy that puts fear into opposing defenses.

On defense, Lee is just as important as Zeke. Without Lee, we have no heart.

I never said "nothing is wrong with the Cowboys" and the sky isn't falling. The Cowboys are a very fixable team.

I didn't actually say that, no.

Of course defenses are going to treat Morris differently than they treat Zeke, by that shouldn't be derailing the passing game. And the pick sixes we've seen the last two weeks weren't because we had the wrong RB in there.

I had thought the issue with the picks and sacks and dead passing game was the pressure, but that wasn't really the case yesterday.

Of course you didn’t say that, but that’s the implication of the argument, especially when Dak’s passing game relies heavily on play action..

@stasheroo man you are just being trolled. It's what he those two do. Putting a conference opponent's team in one's avi is low level heeling.

You are not going to get anything else from them, most of your audience is not even going to read your conversation and they get off to this type of thing. When you start to think of what kind of person gets off to that type of thing I think you will quickly realize its time to just move on.

Thanks for the heads up Fuzzy!

Good post but I disagree about Dez.

He is OK if you're comparing him to #3 WRs or maybe #2 WRs but as a #1 WR he is terrible. When defenses are not worried about the #1 WR then it's easier to cover everyone else.

Dak has started forcing it because nobody is getting open consistently and many good passes are dropped.

Funny, I posted this last night about the Chargers TD and then Broaddus wrote the same thing a few hours later -

What was unfortunate as well on the play, is that the officials missed a takedown of DeMarcus Lawrence by Russell Okung on a well-executed spin move that was no different than the call that Tyron Smithreceived earlier in the game.

Think the Jerry and the Cowboys Window is closing. There is nothing on the defense to build around, Coaching is getting atrocious, Romo is gone, Witten on his last legs, TSmith getting old and off injured, Dez is expensive and has slowed down. He is not the young hungry WR he use to be. No replacements stepping up to take the reigns. Love DAK and Zeke but there are to many JAGs on this team

Good post but I disagree about Dez.

No way! jk....

Dak did miss some passes that he was automatic on before, like the throw on the 2 point conversation that he just missed. I think the main issue is that his game is flawless execution and he has never been put in this position of trying to come back from a big deficit. He will get it in time, but he isn't there yet obviously.

Not really. I don't buy the excuse that we can't have an effective passing game without Elliott. Not with everything we've invested on offense. We neglect the defense and spend two dollars for every one on offense. With players like Dak and Dez and Beasley, a lack of effective play action is not an excuse.
