Agreed. I heard some say he should have run. But not only did he have a bum ankle, but a linebacker was ready to hit him again if he had run.

That was one of those plays where he's just trying to, well, make a play and gets intercepted.

How was it unacceptable? I think by his track record for INT's in big games at big moments it was completely acceptable, and expected.

Childress choked that game away on that final series. With just over 50 seconds left at the 35 he was more concerned with running out the clock then getting his team in position to win the game. He even stated it at his presser.

He took the ball out of a HOF QB's hand that he went to pick up at the airport on that last series, then didnt get the right personnel on the field after the time out so they got a 5 yard penalty that took away any shot at a FG they had.

I dont see how you feel comfortable with a 53 yard FG try to win the game. Just stupid, there was plenty of time left to try to pick up another first down and put your team in a better position to win the game.

Every team that does what the Vikings did to the cowboys with that last minute TD always end up losing either in the playoffs or the SB. The worst thing about this is that they end un losing a game that they should have won hands down, but karma always gets them back. So I could not have been happier with the ending of today’s NFC Championship game, the look on Favres face after the winning field goal was priceless!!! :D

GO SAINTS!!!

:starspin

He looked like a muppet! :lmao2:

There's no guarantee Longwell hits that long FG had Favre played it safe, so it's hard to say he definitely cost them the game. That said, a turnover in that situation was unacceptable for a seasoned player like #4.

I don't disagree in an overall sense but substitute Romo for Favre in that same position and would you be blaming Tony?

Favre will get away with it again because it was just Brett being Brett but if Romo had thrown that pass, the press would crucify him as a choker.

Our ****ty kicker would necessitate Tony rolling the dice and making a play.

Romo would've been knocked out of the game if he took the shots Favre took today imo.

Agreed. How he even finished that game, I'll never know.

Um I'm pretty sure it was the other way around...Brett was changing the calls and Childress was getting upset about it.

Brett did that with Holmgren ALL THE TIME.

You could see Brett walking back to sideline after checking out of run play and throwing an INT and Holmgren mouthing "what the ****?"

:laugh2:

On the NFL Network, Deion was saying that the Vikings were the better team and Irvin disagreed saying no, tonight the Saints were the better team. They got into an argument and the coach said turnovers are a part of the game and just about ended the argument. Primetime helped his teams over the years with turnovers and he should have understood that point. Mariuchi said that no matter if you move up and down the field you can't turn it over and that NO has been doing that all year long so it shouldn't have come as a surprise.

Didn't Minnesota have a chance at an INT in OT and dropped the ball? They deserve all the heartbreak they get.

Romo took worse in the Minnesota game.

It's hard to remember, it seems like they were dropping the ball all night.

That game should have been over long before Favre passed on the opportunity to limp them into FG range.

:laugh2: he wasn't hit nearly as hard as Favre was today.
Did you get out your calculator and measure the mass times the velocity of each hit?

did you watch the game? they were throwing kill shots at Favre today. several woooo hits as Ronnie Lott would say. Romo was getting tackled but he wasn't getting drilled like Favre was today.
