They (Vikes) clearly were the better team though.
They pretty much shutdown Brees and moved the ball at will. It should have been 35-14 Vikes.

Sitting there with a 51 yd FG attempt to go to the Super Bowl.

12 men on the field takes you back to a 56 yd FG try. :laugh1:

Then your veteran QB throw the game losing pick late across the middle. :laugh2:

Way to go Brad and Brett.

He's done. Jay Glazer said every Viking player believes Brett's going to retire. Go back to your ranch, Brett. I lost all respect for him last week.

I think the guy is good not great. What makes him not great is that he is always good for a poor play that results in a big game loss.

With that said he had a great season with Vikes. He will come back for another run with that team. The team is too good and he gelled very well with them. If I were him I would come back.

I agree in what you are saying about Favre. The guy always ends up making a terrible mistake at the end of the season and the worst part of this is that he had no pressure on him when he threw that pick at the end of the game. But that is just Favre...

Agreed. That was the "dont ever throw across your body rookie" mistake.
I told everyone in 3rd qtr. "watch for it, its coming.. an int is coming... he is good for it and he is ready"

lol... I was late it was 4th qtr

So now its Manning vs pops old team :)

He's gonna come back, everyone thought when he was coming back to play for the Vikes he was gonna hurt the team. Make no mistake...he led the team to the NFC Championship game and made the Vikings as a team that much better. Sidney Rice was JAG before Favre came in and made him known.

Vikes are in the same boat as Dallas. They have all the major pieces in place to make another legitimate run for the Lombardi.

Favre had a career year with his longtime OC from his GB days and he also played a P. Manning type role because he could change plays at the LOS on pre-snap reads. Let's also put in perspective that he didn't even go to TC with the Vikes.

IMO Childress will beg Favre to come back, if they lose Favre the team will be setback and may miss their "window" to getting to the SB.

Is that you Rip Van Winkle???

Favre and Childress have been butting heads most of the year because Favre CANT change plays, isn't involved in setting up the offense and has no real discussions with Childress during game planning.

Favre may well be back but it won't be automatic, won't be certain until he actually plays a game, and it will be after some fences are mended with Childress.

I am fairly certain Brett doesn't attend Training Camp.

I disagree, the better team doesn't turn it over 5 times.

The local sports radio station here in Chicago has a segment every week called "whao's that JAGBAG" which is basically for fans to call in and call out sports personalities for acting like jerks, talking smack, acting stupid...that kind of thing.

That last TD pass in our game - that Childress threw on us for Andy Reid, because pow-Andy can't win his own battles - was pretty JAGBAG worthy.

Um I'm pretty sure it was the other way around...Brett was changing the calls and Childress was getting upset about it.

I just got back from a Vikings bar. Lot of heartbreak to say the least...

I was pissed when the Vikings ran up the score last week, but that doesn't change the fact that Favre is one of my favorite non-Cowboy players of all time. I certainly don't believe in "karma" either. I'm disappointed that he came so close only to fail in the end. Guy played his heart out though, while taking a real beating. Honestly, I don't know how any football fan can't love this guy...But to each his own.

...decides to come back to the Vikings it will postpone the development of a real QB in Minny for a few more years.

Jackson hasn't proved to be the answer, but they will need someone to carry the torch until they find their next franchise QB who isn't a hundred years old.

There's no guarantee Longwell hits that long FG had Favre played it safe, so it's hard to say he definitely cost them the game. That said, a turnover in that situation was unacceptable for a seasoned player like #4.

Let's be real here, the interception was stupid and he's been prone to this mistake his entire career. But AP cost the Vikings the game with all the fumbles. And we all know, if the Vikings have T.Jackson at QB this season they don't even make the playoffs.

Regardless, as I noted in another thread, I hope he comes back so we can stick it to him in Minny next year.

Favre hit the ground, Favre hit the ground, looking like fools when Favre hit the ground. Punched in the mouth, ankle turned sideways, Favre hits the ground.

Agreed. I heard some say he should have run. But not only did he have a bum ankle, but a linebacker was ready to hit him again if he had run.

That was one of those plays where he's just trying to, well, make a play and gets intercepted.

AP - 1 turnover
Favre - 2

One of APs fumbles actually helped the Vikings with about 10 extra yards.
