Kazee or Hooker

Who would you rather sign

I think if we sign one of them, it will be on a one year deal.

I would go with Hooker. I think there's more talent with him. I hate his injury history, but I think it's worth the risk. I envision us drafting a safety early. The pictures we saw of our coaches at TCU's pro day has given me hope that we are looking at one early. If we wind up drafting a safety like Moehrig or Grant in round two, then I think either guy will work. It will probably be a one year deal, and we'll move on next season.....with a new comp pick.

Kazee has had a better career and stayed healthier. And probably because of those two things going hand in hand.

So I'd probably go with him because the injury seems to be an aberration while it seems like a regular occurrence for Hooker. He's like Sean Lee was, great skills but can't stay healthy.

Malik Hooker is the most talented FS, but injury history, take boths

I honestly think we'll go Hooker. According to reports, Dallas loved the guy coming out of Ohio St. I also think he will come a bit cheaper. It seems that there is a bit of a market for Kazee.

I really am excited for either guy, though. I hope the reports of us still looking for a CB are true. I would love to see us bring in another starter to pair with Diggs. Hayward is the guy I'm crossing my fingers for.

Neither. Go draft route.

Go Cowboys!

I want one of these guys, plus a draft pick.
No sure-fire safeties in this draft, no way do I want to pen one with as my starter, because I don't have a solid vet to compete with him.

Hooker is the prototype to play the single high FS position, but he just cannot stay healthy and I wonder if the injuries have taken away some of his explosiveness.

Kazee played under Quinn/Whitt, know the scheme, has far less of an injury history. He possesses legit ball skills, which this team has truly lacked for year.

Talent alone, Hooker is the pick, but Kazee has less of an injury history and has already played in this scheme.

I don't think either player will prevent the Cowboys from drafting another Safety, but it probably won't happen until day 3 in this scenario.

Kazee is undersized, but had ten picks from 2018-19 and got hurt last year.

Hooker has prototype size and range but never really lived up to being the 15th player picked in the 2017 draft.

I picked Kazee because he's had success with Dan Quinn before and could be a nice ballhawk to team with Neal and Wilson.

So does it scare anyone else that our safeties next season could be the Falcons safeties from the past few years? I had this concern when we got McCoy and Poe and people told me don’t worry about it......

I would gamble on the talent of Hooker and hope. The truth is he is really the only player available that that allows you to play a single high Safety with any confidence. In all likelihood unless they score Moehrig or Grant in the draft they’re going to have use a different cover scheme.

Not really. They haven't played together much. And the Falcons edge pressure has been non existent the last couple years.

I have concerns about both of them. But the Falcon connection isnt a big one for me

And if their secondary was a problem, it was more about the CBs

Both players offer a lot of promise, having put up a lot of production in the past that would fit very well in the single high safety scheme Quinn is bringing to Dallas.

However, both players are also coming off Achilles tears, which is why they’re each in the Cowboys’ price range.

Went with Hooker but both are big upgrades over Woods when healthy, so i'll be happy with either.

Either is fine. Keep in mind what happens if we don't sign either - we'll end up inking Woods. Whoever is back there should expect a day two pick coming in and being the heir apparent.

There's no learning curve for Kazee, he's going to have comfort in the scheme. Dealing with injury is all he has to focus on to a degree, while Hooker would be starting from scratch. So, I'll take Kazee and draft a FS in the draft of course.
