Who would you rather sign

What u do is sign both. Let them make the team. Let them push one another out or both stay. This would eliminate a draft need.
This is your objective.

Give them both one year deals and sign who plays better after the year. Or stays healthy hell they both may wanna stay
not even a reality, pick one you li the best but if unsure wait until after the draft and pick the one left over..2 is ridiculous as the draft will also produce one..the fact that Neal can also play S and we have Wilson, no need to just sign anyone. They will choose the best one for their defense. Really, its who is the most capable as a FS roaming cover guy we have SS types set here already..need ball hawk that roams center field..

IDK.....we're probably NOT drafting day-one starter and I don't trust either player's health, especially for 16 games. This is why I'm thinking if we sign both $4-5M and draft a high developmental guy with 3rd, all bases are covered. Hell, let them duke it out in training camp. best man starts, loser back-up ( probably still plays quite a bit ) and young guy learns from both, hopefully, ready to start next season.
Kazee doesn't have an injury history, if cleared, should be fine. Hooker is the one to worry about as he hasn't shown he can make it through a season injury free.

There going to sign 1 and rightfully so. We may only have 1 other signing left in us and I hope they decide on Jones or Wright.

Hooker - the upside is just too much to pass on, even with the injury concerns

Kazee knows the system, and Quinn knows Kazee. Hooker has the most upside, but his injury history is extremely poor. Both now coming off similar injuries and have had close to the same rehab time.

Doubt either would sign after the other has done so. We are talking about low-ball, 1-year contracts, so each will have alternatives.

I voted Hooker, but have second-guessed the choice. In the end, let the doctors decide which is healing the best.

Is it bad to say it doesn't matter we just need players that can upgrade starting positions?

Not a full time linebacker though right?

You're right. He's probably going to play like Darren Woodson did for us in the 1990's- a safety in the base defense and a linebacker that can cover in the nickel. But since teams usually only play two linebackers now, I assume both Neal and Wilson will be in the regular defense along with a free safety (either Hooker or Kazee hopefully).

Basically the Neal signing means either Jaylon Smith or LVE are changing positions or getting demoted.

Kazee was injury free until last year. Hooker can't stay on the field. Kazee is a safer bet.

For the "Seattle" defense to be truly successful, you need a single high Safety that can cover ground. Hooker is that guy. He has Earl Thomas like instincts. Injuries are his kryptonite, but without them, there is no way he's available.

As long as we're welcoming injury-prone players, I hope we'll take both and pray one is able to remain healthy!

Then, we should probably draft a promising one, who would possibly develop into a gift from the Football Gods.
