Love the confidence and I would hope this is the attitude inside the locker room, but that is where this stuff needs to stay and the Cowboys continue to fail here.
You don't follow Pats reporters. These guys all have media sessions.u notice New England is quiet? I have a bad feeling we might have another rough game. The team seems unhinged. McCarthy better reign this stuff in.
Yeah players are required to talk to the media, but the players are not required to show off their egos to the public and most teams understand how to handle these situations. Did Belichick talk up his own team when asked about the Cowboys? Nope he went on to sign their praises, meanwhile the Cowboys continue to talk up themselves. I would love it these guys had total confidence inside the locker room and spoke that way, but to the media you give the borning answers...."NE has a great duo of backs and we have to step up our game in order to stop them" is along the lines of what needs to be said.Y'all do know the players are REQUIRED to speak to the media. This quote is obviously from that interview.
He didn't tweet anything. He didn't post anything on social media.
He was asked a question and that was his response...which I'm not sure what he was supposed to say that would've satisfied anyone on here.
You're comparing coach-speak to players-speak? Stop it. lolYeah players are required to talk to the media, but the players are not required to show off their egos to the public and most teams understand how to handle these situations. Context matters and the whole likely wasn't read.To his credit he also said this: “For the first (time) since I’ve been here,” safety Jayron Kearse said, “I feel like I was part of the problem, and not a problem-solver.”
Cowboys safety Jayron Kearse when asked about great defenses showing up every week: “That’s definitely the most frustrating thing. (Dan Quinn) said something right before our last meeting, ‘defense travels.’ And we didn’t travel. We went out there and instead of us being a reason we win, we’re part of the reason we lost. That hit us hard.”
On if he thinks the Patriots are going to try to copy anything the Cardinals did: “If we play our football, we’re going to stop anything. It’s not really about what New England does. We hope they turn that tape on and think that’s the same thing they’re getting. They’re not getting anything close to that.”
Exactly right.Again. Players are paid to talk the the media. That’s part of the job.

After reading the full quote, Jayron didn't say anything outrageous. He believes the defense is more like what we saw in the first two games than the last game against the Cards. He has a right to feel that way.I understand all that..I mean duh...I am saying they won last week...and aren't telling the media what they will do to us. Meanwhile we might be the only team that gets our arse handed 2 us, that then doubles down on stupid and talks even more. BTW, I get it....all teams talk 2 some degree, but this team just doubles down on foolishness. McCarthy better reign it in. New England will take us to the brink Sunday. I think we win it but wont be easy.
Yeah Im not in a tizzy, Im just wanting the team to say less and get results. It is what it is I guess. Tired of the wasted talk. After reading the full quote, Jayron didn't say anything outrageous. Thread title and posted blurb basically got people in a tizzy.
I'd say a much more fair assessment of what is happening is the answer to a question he was asked during a mandatory available to media time has been provided. No one is "quoting" him.Is this the same guy half-asping it during the game? people are quoting this turd? did he say, I'll try to give fifty percent this game since you guys saw me half-asping it?
PerzactlyY'all do know the players are REQUIRED to speak to the media. This quote is obviously from that interview.

The majority of posts in this thread including yours say otherwise. But you're right. It is what it is.Yeah Im not in a tizzy, Im just wanting the team to say less and get results. It is what it is I guess. Tired of the wasted talk.
MANDATORY media availability. He has to answer the questions asked.I really REALLY wish this team would stop their yapping all the time.
Come now, Folks in here are that sensitive? My oh my. Duly noted. Cookies for everyone. The majority of posts in this thread including yours say otherwise. But you're right. It is what it is.
I would have no issues with players talking more like coaches. Yeah people get bent out of shape every time Dak gives a non answer, but arrogance proceeds the fall. Be humble in front of the media and be a monster on the field. You're comparing coach-speak to players-speak? Stop it. lol
Most hate it when players give boring answers. I've seen it too much here after a L.
For everyone griping about "cockiness" of the quote, folks would be equally mad at a non-answer or praising the other team.
Anything short of "I suck" just doesn't cut it.
Yep. And it applies to every team.Again. Players are paid to talk the the media. That’s part of the job.
