I can’t believe I’m actually saying this but I feel sorry for Mike McCarthy. This is the most putrid team we’ve seen since the Campo years and those teams overachieved winning 5 games.

I’m not defending McCarthy’s coaching. It hasn’t been good to say the least. But let’s be honest - Big Mac was actually handed a one legged roster with one arm tied behind his back by this 82 year old arrogant fool in charge of this mess. This team is awful.

Honestly, 31 other owners would have fired McCarthy after that packers loss last January. That’s what should have happened. Now Jerry lets McCarthy twist in the wind weekly with this historically bad roster. If Jerry Jones had one ounce of mercy in his soul, he would release McCarthy tomorrow.

It’s the humane thing to do.
Fat Mac has made millions and is selling his manse for $5 mil.
So, dear lad, I will empathize with far worthier victims of this world. Like the minimum-wage kid whose car breaks down. Or lonely people in elder homes.
But I admire your sympathy for others.

Not entirely related but McCarthy is/was Jerry's 8th Head Coach.

He will be only the 4th to be fired after a losing season.

The other three are Switzer, Campo and Phillips. Two others walked away, Johnson and Parcells. Another had a .500 season, Garrett. The last one, Gailey, was fired after a winning season.

Ever since Johnson left, no other HC really had a fighting chance. With Jerry's micromanagement, they were all doomed from the start.

I think this is jerry's way of "teaching a lesson" to MM, make him go out and get embarrassed week after week after week.................call it payback for that GB disaster.
Who teaches Jerry a lesson due to the fact that Jerry knew as a general manager they had needs to fix areas on the team and Jerry say's "I'm all in" and then sits on his butt and does nothing but pass on Henry and brings in their old washed up running back from another team?

One calling call of Jerry is he rarely does the right thing...

You should feel sorry for Mike. He is a good man and has had a good career. Dallas is toxic. Any coach will fail here as long as Jerry is around. Stephen too.

I wish I could feel sorry for McCarthy but he basically lied to get his job and the new who he was signing on with but took the job anyway because he needed the money.
He has made a good salary and gave us some decent football to watch at times.
That said I feel Jerry cashed in this season after the loss to Green Bay.
I feel the season was Jerry's ultimate Spike trick and a show of how vindictive he can be.
Jerry felt he was taken advantage of in a big way last year and this year he was going to have to pay all the people that came up small and made him look like a fool a king's Ransom.
I think Jerry made up his mind that if he was going to have to pay Dak and CD record money and be on the hook for McCarthy's paycheck they were going to be given nothing to work with and just have to suffer through an embarrassing horrible season.

Chan was fired for losing a playoff game.

My dream is Mike quits and goes scorched earth on Jerry. That would be delicious.
The two are clearly done with each other with their comments in the media. MM saying it would’ve been nice to have all players signed by April. Jerry saying the coaches schemes would’ve held back having Derrick Henry.

Switzer wasn't fired, he resigned after the 1997 season

Coaches work with what the GM gives them to work with.
If anything, McCarthy should quit after the season
Firing him would be an insult in my opinion
I put it right back in Jerry’s lap like Jimmy did

Injuries, injuries, injuries. It’s not Mike’s fault.
And I’m not sticking up for him because I personally don’t like him. But this is not a personal issue.
I think he’s doing as good as he possibly can with what GM gave him to work with.
The defense is horrible that the first person I’d let go is defensive coordinator goodbye Zimmer
hard to try to win games ,with Cooper Rush under center .

I hate that he keeps comparing firing MM during mid-season to Gailey and Wade. It's like he expects MM to turn around a 3-7 record with a roster loaded with injuries, including your starting quarterback. Hell, Gailey had a Super Bowl team, and you fired Wade because you could not wait to give the job to an unprepared Jason Garrett. It's apples and Oranges compared to MM's situation now.

They weren't winning games with Dak, so why pick on one and not the other?
