I would take Keith Davis as a special teams COACH over what we have in place.

Seriously, how difficult is it to teach players to stay in their coverage lanes?

Even if he was doing drugs and dodging bullets on his own time.... I would still like an animated guy like Avezzano with fire. Maybe there is a good college ST coach we could get.

im with everybody, absolutely bring keith davis back, heck, even have him back as coach player;

davis sure could like someone posted help teach the players how to stay in their lanes and play with heart on special teams;

no but some one that got signed in the off season by a team that went 1-15 the year before. Leads you to believe that something is a miss.

Come on Roy...make me eat crow. Force me to take this picture down!

No threat of you eating crow. Roy will not be in the game on most passing plays which is his weak area. But you can't take the picture down either (great picture by the way...you should make a t-shirt with this image)...he still sucks in coverage (did in college as well).

I wonder if he asked for his release because of a playing time issue?

Or if he just couldnt cut it as a 4th or 5th safety for them?

Either way, as long as everything is as it was with him I would be interested in him, as long as he knows he is a special teams ace only.

Making league minimum.....and only if it wasn't at the expense of a talented young player.

Our ST issue is not players, it is coaching....leave Keith on the street.

Let's see. He signed a 2 year 3.5 mil contract... Alot of cheese to be 4th on the depth chart.

As a vested vet, his contract becomes guaranteed first day of the season, so maybe the released him to save some coin.

If there are no criminal issues, suspensions pending (and it's possible since I read on PFT alot of appeals were being heard by the NFL this week), etc then I say sign him to the vet min....

If he is only a 4th on a team like Miami, run away and don't look back.

FWIW, he was listed as the 2nd team SS...same as he was for most of his tenure here.

Davis is a vested veteran, so even if we do want to go another round with him, it'll likely have to wait until after week one to avoid guaranteeing his base salary.
