Nice ST player and hard worker. Good hands too. Makes perfect sense to let him go. I suspect FB is high on the list for the draft.

Sure if we know there won't be any FB's available late in the draft or undrafted.

Smith was an OK fullback, essentially a special-teammer that they found a position for because he wasn't good enough as a linebacker. Hopefully, this will force us to upgrade the position, but probably not.

Of course, I doubt we're going to find anyone that cheap in FA, so it will be up to a late-round pick or UDFA.
Why do you think we are hoarding comp picks?

With their fourth round pick, the Dallas Cowboys select fullback---

Zach Line is still a FA, no?
Curious how many times he was a lead blocker for Ingram and Kamara.

Or are we planning to use Jarwin in the backfield

Read somewhere he played 11% of the snaps last year. So yeah, no way I’m paying that kind of $

Single back sets. Put a big fatty back there in short yardage

Rod Smith can handle the FB duties

No sense paying 4x a STer rate over a UDFA

LOL. What happen to “we wanna pay and keep our own”?

They never said they would keep everyone, and they especially didn't say cost was no object to keep players. Keith Smith was a sparsely used FB, and Rod Smith can fill the role if needed.

Just remember, this is a guy we cut and resigned like 17 times. He’s the definition of JAG
