Ha ha. Just looked up the Wonderlic of our new and improved boy genius Kellen Moore - 26.

This team is such a clown show. The *only* qualification they've ever pointed to with Moore is his supposed genius, yet that appears to be a complete fraud, and one publicly verified as a fraud.

Some reporter has got to ask Jerry:
You and your staff have been raving about Kellen Moore's intelligence.
Yet his wonderlic was 26, only slightly above average versus the general population, and lower than Travis and Zeke.
Do you see Moore as smarter than they are? If so, why?

This is nonsense because it suggests people are talking about Moore in a way they are not. The context in which people talk about Moore’s mind and intelligence is “Football IQ”, not formal IQ tests. Nobody is saying he could be a brilliant physicist or as capable of creating the theory of relativity as Einstein was, they are saying he has a great “football mind” and a great understanding of the “game of football”.

The one fair and legitimate concern with Moore is his lack of experience. Your argument is neither fair or legitimate.

It's his football IQ that has been praised.
The Wonderlic has nothing to do with that.

I scored a 50.

I could not be a college QB and it's not because of a lack of arm strength. I would over-think things as a QB and probably as an offensive coordinator.

Randy Gregory had the highest SAT score that that the Cowboys have seen. Does he look like the guy on the field with the most football intelligence?

Garrett probably had a decent Wonderlic score...

No freaking kidding!!!
If that were the case, J "Princeton" G would be a football god.

The myth of Garrett's genius prompted me to check on how our new Boy Genius scored on the wonderlic.

Garrett's wonderlic was on the smarter side for QBs, but not surprisingly high. It didn't indicate that he was a genius anymore than going to Princeton did.

But it did indicate that he scored 10 points more than our new supposed Boy Genius.

Here is a practice Wonderlic question for you:

14. The time to comment on how smart someone is at their job is:

(A) Before they have done their job
(B) After they have done their job
(C) While they are doing their job
(D) Both B & C

Score at home and let us know the results.

Moore has been an NFL player and coach, and he was hired for the job by a team known for paying top salaries to coaches and getting the coaches they recruit. All of those are qualifications.

Its a silly point, you can make this claim about every successful NFL OC for the first time they were promoted into the OC job. They weren't "qualified", they were picked because the team thought they could do it. Sean Payton went from being a QB Coach to an OC in 2000, the same thing could have been said about him.

And the fact a ton of coaches and players have been around Moore and praise his intelligence is only a bad thing on Internet message boards.
First of all, mate, Kellen Moore is no Sean Peyton.
Second, skills and not " intelligence" are the best qualifications.
Jimmy Johnson had the best, intelligence and coaching know how and inspired fear.
We have none at present.

Gee, is the Wonderlic a test of football intelligence? Is it even a well regarded test of general intelligence?

No. It is a very short test that might sort out truly dumb players.

Also, as a low level prospect, Moore isn't getting copies of the test to study.

This thread seems more about the OP's intelligence than Moore's

I think Peyton and Brees scored about that high, and they were both functionally on-field coordinators by the time they were 30, the age Moore would be this season.

If he scored hilariously low, like what's his name who got a 6, maybe that means something. Because you have to be almost special-needs (like with a cognitive learning disability or something) to score below a certain level despite having been smart enough to have been academically eligible to play football in college. Scoring in the 20's isn't that.

Guys who scored in the 20's have gone on to be perfectly capable of having a grasp of NFL-level schemes. This thread's premise is dumb.

It's probably possible to be a football genius of mediocre general intelligence. Same could be said of physics. But that's not the way to bet.

The Wonderlic has nothing to do with that.

The whole point of general intelligence is that it is in fact general. Almost any general intelligence test, including the wonderlic, correlates well with IQ tests.
