Kellen Moore, C'mon down!

I disagree, I think most of those on the inside, the ones that ask themselves "how did we get this wrong?" have him "one the bubble". Which is exactly where he was coming out of Miss St. The Dak we saw in the last half of 2017, that was exactly what he was in college and the reason he went in the 4th.

But I agree, the talent on this offense should take this team into the playoffs unless there are too many missed opportunities. There are enough weapons and they should win enough games not needing Dak to load the team on his back. They absolutely must run the ball well, top 3 well, or they will not see the post season except on TV.

I think Dak is the man right now. But I want to see more of Cooper Rush.

The word on Moore coming out of Boise St. was that he, probably, had the best QB mind and understanding of offense of any QB coming out and some were really impressed with his knowledge, even as a rookie.

Now he gets his chance with Prescott, Rush and White and I don't know if there's a team with less NFL experience at the QB position than the Cowboys. He's got what some feel is a reclamation project with QB1 after only two seasons but this season Prescott must move the ball down the field or we could see either Rush or White or both.

But this is where a young first time coach, pre-anointed, makes his name for himself and catches everyone's attention because what GM or HC isn't going to be paying attention to the Dallas Cowboys and their QB?

The other dynamic here is that Linehan could serve as a sacrifice and his young apprentice might just slide into his spot. No coordinator has his butt sitting on the burner as much as Scott Linehan. The man is blessed with a top 5 OL and top 3 RB and there will be no excuses this season, produce or be gone because that young coach that he likes so much is just waiting to take his job. Because if he stumbles and the light shines on Moore, the Cowboys might have little choice but to promote him or lose him. The highest priority in the NFL is QB development and Moore will have a lot of light shining on him.

Kellen Moore and the development of 3, 2 and 1 year QB's is one of my must watch with keen interest developments this season. Not as keen in checking out the Cheerleaders and seeing who might have put on a few ounces, yes, I peruse it that closely. Not down to grams just yet but if these new contacts are eagle eye good, that's next.

Omg, and I called him "Mini-me" Moore for so long. Now I feel bad. Sorry Mini-me, it's Sir Kellen of the Moore's from now on hehe

I’m trying to think of another team that went deep into the playoffs with a top running game but without an elite QB or defense?

Lol so Garrett is safe you think?

Ravens/Bears style of play is the only ones I can think of and our defense would need miracles to come close.

I think only a collapse boots Garrett out. Jerry will be looking for ways to keep him not get rid of him.

And yea.. an elite defense like Ravens/Bears certainly should be enough with Dak.

I don’t believe Garrett’s future rest on developing Dak anymore than it did surrounding or building a better team with Romo.

I think this board is the only one who consider Dak "on the bubble"

Garrett and Linehan need to be questioned if we do not go deep in the playoffs this year. New players or not.
I think that is true in the sense that a lot of people on here will put Dak on the bubble and not consider Garrett and Linehan to be a factor. Neither one of them have a proven track record.

Romo was able to develop and perform in Garrett’s offense and under Linehan.

Another reason why hiring a guy with no coaching experience was probably questionable.

Garrett and Linehan have put bullseyes on their backs for sure now. They are going to have to scheme an offense this year given we likely have middling NFL skill talent other than Elliott.

With Zeke and this line, middling coaching should STILL get us to the playoffs...

Romo ran his own offense Linehan was the playcaller with Romo. Notice how Romo liked to call out of plays often?

I will play theory and say the coaches first scheme came last season after Romo retired.

While many on the board may exaggerate the situation some, I don’t think there is any question that Dak is a little bit on the hot seat. There will be pressure for him to show he is a franchise QB.

Dak would be smart to get out of here after his rookie contract is up. It's amazing how you see fans going in, wishing for the replacement of a rookie that had arguably the best rookie season on qb and was looking solid in his second year until Zeke gets suspended and the oline play declines. Garrett and crew are already setting up Dak as the scapegoat. Let's just waste more resources on QB and then complain about that new guy and about how much he sucks when Garrett is still here running the same basic schemes.

I don’t think anybody has an issue with bringing in the next Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers.

Let me know as soon as one becomes available.

Also, let me know the last time either one of them won anything without a good defense also.

Brady almost won it this year with a bad defense. But couldn’t quite get there. Every other championship he had a good defense helping him out.

It would be smart for us to trade him and get something out of it. If he is not the answer.

Dak started last season pretty much on track. It fell apart & he lost that "Poise" we were all so enamored with. Having nothing but a mini speed bump between your QB & the dudes trying to kill him will do that.

The thing that impresses me the most with Dak is that I think he's smart & willing to put in the work he needs to get better.
