Kellen Moore era has begun

Wait a gosh darn minute...are you honestly trying to say he's our new starter? Over one of the best franchise QB's in the league? Tell me I'm misunderstanding you, Floaty...

I think there is @ least a QB controversy started. You tell me...An up and coming guy 26 years old...that sparked the team....vs a 35 year old guy that hasn't won squat...busted collar bone 4 times w/ various other serious injuries. I just don't trust Romo to get through a season anymore....Nor do I see any upside to Romo. It's gonna be all down hill from here. Give me the young guy that is hungry. He's just gonna get better once they start game planning to his strengths...

The Kellen Moore era has begun.

I know the numbers don't look great. He made a couple bad INTs....Locking onto WRs... But for the first time all season...(Including when Romo was healthy)...the offense looked capable of moving the football.

Considering he had limited snaps during the week....Moore made quick decisions. Knew where to go w/ the football.

And maybe most importantly...gave the team a spark....and hope.

I can't see anything but positives going forward. Give Kellen this week to learn from his mistakes....and he will. All things considered....He probably got maybe 30 snaps during the week to get ready...which is nothing. Not bad for a guy getting his first NFL action against a playoff contender that was desperate for a win.

Haters are gonna hate.

But he inspired the team tonight. And for those that can't see that he has the "IT" factor just don't understand football.

I think you're suffering from Alumni blindness when you include Romo in your diatribe about the offense not moving. I will give that he's done better than the backups tho.

I'm sure KM is a nice guy but....he threw three picks last night and two of them were atrocious. In NO way did I see anything that excited me. He's better than Cassel, I'll give him that. Otherwise.....meh.

Yeah, I'll just ignore the hyperbole of the thread title. However, I am glad he is playing over the other two lame backups that we had/have. I couldn't stand to watch Weeden anymore. Then I couldn't stand to watch Cassel anymore. At least Moore looks like he knows how to play QB, i.e. make decisions quickly and throw it to the right receiver. If he was put in before any of the other QBs, this season probably could have been salvaged until Romo legitimately could have come back instead of rushing him in there. Just another thing in a long list of things where Jason Garrett, the politician and speaker of platitudes, doesn't have a clue about football.

If he had a decent release and an average arm I would be excited. I'm pulling for the guy though....

Did I read on here somewhere you saying this is gonna be a Room/Moore controversy?

Wow, it went from maybe he can be a serviceable back to beating out an elite qb.

Next time, don't forget your medication

Moored I always assumed was brought here to be the second coming...of Jason garret. A long term backup, smart player you can rely on. He looks like he's a hit away from being snapped in half. Maybe he can do what Romo did, particularly since he doesn't run, and just gain a bunch of weight. Workout warriors pumping their glamour muscles still fail to see, even though it's been said many times that's why he gained weight, to take hits.

Good luck to the kid,

What I saw said he might develop into a decent backup with more reps. He's going to be limited because anything outside the numbers tends to float a little bit as well as anything too much over ten yards inside the numbers. Basically he gets the ball there but there's not a lot of pace on it. He threw a ball 50 yards with horrible hang time, he basically threw a hail mary that got picked. Maybe its just first game issues but he lost the safety a good deal during the game. He's not going to run but he has mobility inside the pocket. He should get these next two starts, but if he doesn't show a lot more then he shouldn't alter off season plans very much.

I'm guessing we might be seeing a future QB coach or someone else on offensive position coaches, not convinced he's a NFL QB yet. The response for him right now is that he was merely bad last night as opposed to the horrible Cassel we've seen the last two weeks, and don't make the mistake that Moore wasn't bad last night.

Dont get the anointing oil out just yet. Time will tell.

I'll say one thing. He doesn't play like he's scared at all. He also plays like he understands the offense. Both of those are things our previous experienced back ups didn't appear to have. I also noticed he went thru a progression of receivers a couple of times which also didn't seem to be the case of our other "experienced" back ups. He might be Johnny Football without the legs and a better brain. The size is pretty much the same and no one has every said Johnny Football has a strong arm. Least Moore seems to have his head on straight.

Even if Romo can't get through a season, he's still gonna be QB1 until he gets injured.

Romo's time is running out, I agree on that. I don't see him lasting more than 2 more seasons and if he breaks his collarbone or hurts his back again next year, it's very likely he'll retire but it's all on Romo. Moore isn't going to send him to the bench.

those were bad picks by Moore but they weren't any worse than Romos bombs against the Panthers. I'm interested to see what he does the rest of the season that's for sure.

Agree. Watching the break from the huddle they seemed to be more energized, and willing to expend more effort. Wanted to see a W but for once an L which ends the improbability of a run was welcomed as the team can now focus on who stays/goes while really testing Moore as a viable backup until Tony's real replacement
can be brought on board.
