My first thought was this weird formation MUST have been something Boise State has run in the past when I saw it. Maybe someone here follows Boise State and confirm my suspicions. Have you seen it before @Floatyworm ..?
Funny you ask...it's a long story...but the short version is...I think Kellen was forced to use a play McCarthy and Jerry drew up on a bar napkin.

People forget how the rift between Rodgers and McCarthy started....and it started just like this...McCarthy using stupid formations...getting cute.

When you have to worry about a QB running you cannot drop in coverage as far and thus more space to convert 3rd and long!

and yes a running QB can easily convert a 3rd and 13
He avg 2 more rushing attempts per game from last year. All daboll did was say run 2 more times and BINGO. yea ok

I honestly think he's leaving ..........likely for another OC job. Yes, I know he has another year on his contract and Jerry would have to approve it. I think they will let him decide......if he wanna go, they won't stop him.
Why would he take another OC job, Dallas pays coordinators more than other teams

Teams don’t want to give up multiple picks especially to a division rival
True. Maybe they are enamored with Moore since he dismantled the Tampa defense that they couldn’t beat weeks before for the division! A man can dream!

There's alot to unpeel here.

One, Moore is clearly not the sole problem but yes, I think he's kind of an issue especially when he faces some of these top level defenses. As pointed out, there is a predictability to this offense that better teams pick up on.

Two, Moore isn't so good that he's irreplaceable.

Three, with that in mind, and knowing that his contract makes him almost untradeable/uncuttable at this point, trying to pair Dak with a different system may be the only thing that works.

Ideally, it would be great if both get sent off somewhere. But that's not happening. I get that thinking Moore moving on is scapegoating him. Personally, I don't see it that way. For me, I only care about what the team does and knowing that Dak is going nowhere, Moore isn't to great or awesome or superb, that we can't at least try another offensive voice here.
Ideally we would go back to a 2014 type offense. Our OL isnt that good overall, but I think they have pieces in the place to he a ball control line. I will say a right side of Martin and Steele is a better run blocking duo than with Free. I think that is our best chance at taking a step forward.

Im not sure exactly who that coordinator is. However Id say our best option to lead the offense either way is Reich. Definite upgrade over Moore and his offense meshes with McCarthy (both WCO guys) and our offensive players

That last play against San Fran should help his chances greatly.
I don't get all the hate on the last play - the chances of any play working was practically zero from where we were on the field.
The tried something that hadn't been seen. At that point, I'm fine with something completely out of the blue. Zeke gets blown up, Dak throws late and high, the adjustment to catch the ball kept them from tossing it back. If the throw is on target, the lateral starts just like every other Stanford band play that has occurred.

My guess is the throw was going to make it back to Dak and then he throws across the field where the lineman were set up. Would have been fun to watch it develop.

The only problem with that is the QB... if you one saying get rid of the QB then show me what the OC's offense did without Dak. Obviously the Dak/KM combo works in the regular season, we have equal evidence it does not work in the playoffs.
