So, Im in Boise, have seen all of his college games, junior and senior year at home in person, and watched his preseason appearances for the Lions. I may be a little biased, but this is a great signing and eventually will push Weeden off the roster. Moore does not have a strong arm, but he is everything else you want in a QB. He is Brees-ish. He is so smart, reads the defense right, looks off the safety, and throws his receivers open with anticipation. He is an ideal #2 QB. Unlike Weeden, he will come in for a game or two, and will win you those games because he is so well-prepared and does not make mistakes. It only helps that he played for Linehan for two years in Detroit. Topping off a great offseason for this FO...

No doubt it is a plus he knows what Linehan does and has the intangibles. To me, he looks like a career 3rd stringer that ends up coaching eventually. Maybe that is the charm.

But I do not think he is better than Weeden from a physical perspective. If he could make the all the NFL throws, the Lions would have kept him again. I don't think you can claim he can win any games in the NFL because he has never been asked to do so.

I also wonder what he adds overall. As an arm, he's left handed. As a scout QB, is that going to help or hurt? I think he will be a good film room player to have in the QB meetings though.

Totally agree.

He isn't prototypical by any definition. But he has that something. If you watched that Quincy/Romo video, it's what Parcells was talking about. Unfortunately, his physical limitations hold him back. But he is the type of QB that will always find a job. Reminds me of the Detmer boys.

Kid was 50-3 in college. Think about that....50 wins in 4 years. And if it wasn't for our idiot kicker.....he would have been 52-1. Kid just knows how to win. Hopefully it will rub off on Romo.

He has positive intangibles, I watched him in college.
But his arm is not strong. If he will be a plus on the roster or an after thought is yet to be seen.

I just hate Weeden. (hate may be a strong word, abhor maybe?)

If the Detroit Lions are going to carry a third quarterback on the team's practice squad, it won't be Kellen Moore.

The team's longtime, third-string quarterback, who was waived on Saturday, has agreed to join the Dallas Cowboys. It's unclear whether he'll be on the 53-man roster or the team's practice squad. The move was confirmed by the Idaho Statesman.

Joining the Cowboys will reunite Moore with former Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, who currently serves in the same role with Dallas.
