yeah he took a job that is going to be a big job and uphill battle to make them a winner.
They need players, and all the good position coaches, and dc's have been hired ! He will be hard pressed to hire a decent staff.
I would have stayed with phil, and rode that train another year or 2, build up cred, and maybe get another ring or 2.
Siriani wanted him back.
Also smarter to wait for a better team/roster needing a HC
that's the problem those teams would not have wanted him he was not highly sought after and only because it was the last job opening and the Saints were desperate both are willing to take the leap not to say he won't succeed but the guys being overrated by the let's talk about this recency bias of the roster he's coaching versus his actual skill set I don't think anything's changed from the time the Dallas Cowboys fans didn't want the guy here and he was let go with the chargers he fell into a good job and now he's being handed the keys to a team with very little experience very little connections and with a whole bunch of coaches already picked through for his assistance that's not a good start.
So yes, I agree with what you're saying...
but I have to add that in there people here have been in a closed up room full of fumes all of a sudden this man went from dud to stud like overnight... he's now going to be the better choice the Dallas Cowboys will rue the day they didn't take Kellen moore...hmm
isn't this the very guy that Jerry was trying to sell fans on that was the next Sean McVeigh you know like he did with Garrett but this was his boy wonder remember and everybody absolutely was dead set against it but now there's like 4 threads on Kellen Moore on a hated eagles team going to the Saints and somehow it's a story here as if he rejected Jerry and no Jerry rejected him very clear that Jerry cancelled the second formal meaning the interview that was supposed to happen between the championship game and the Super bowl it was a fact Jerry chose schottenheimer cause schottenheimer just surprised him in the first interview he got the second interview and it's all history he got glowing referrals from his peers of his past all the players he's been around gave him a glowing review and the fact that he's been in the league 25 years and the fact that he had a father Marty Schottenheimer that was very good in this league, he comes from good coaching stock,
I'd say he has a Slight advantage over Kellen Moore and Jerry just decided that was a better move.
I think fans in here really believe that Mike McCarthy and Moore rejected this job even though Kellen Moore came out and said he was very interested in this job fact is Jerry rejected them and I know people hate Jerry and they think otherwise but those are facts if Jerry wanted either one of these coaches they would be here Bill Belichick even had interest in coming here if he didn't already sign the deal with the Carolina college team he might be here I mean everybody thinks his job was unwanted by other coaches and that's just not true...
In no way am I pumping up the Schottenheimer higher but I really like his staff he put together, but people need to stop the nonsense about the regrets we're going to have for not signing Kellen Moore when this place didn't want him at all even as an offensive coordinator... The hypocrisy in the bipolar opinions are classic around here..
