I honesty was thinking we should let Moore play for the rest of the season to see if we have something there. Also I don't mind losing out to get a high draft pick. Nothing is worst then missing the playoffs and having a 14-20 draft pick. What is your thoughts on that?

But what if he's actually better than Cassel?? I say stick with our winning (losing) formula.

Shouldn't be too hard with gamblin' Garrett at the helm

He doesn't have the physical stature or the arms that coaches and GMs covet, but he's supposed to do everything else really well. I personally think he should have seen time shortly after Romo went down the first time.

I'm 99.9% sure that as long as we are still mathematically alive for the playoff that Garrett will continue to play it safe and play Cassell (which I disagree with). We'll probably need 2 more loses before we see Moore. If we don't see him at all this year, that would be a major fail on Garrett's part.

Yeah you right. The sad thing is we know we can't win with Cassel. JG knows it too. The day we lost againist Tampa pretty much sum it for me.

I am torn on this one but wouldn't mind it. Part of me thinks this is more practice time for Cassell going towards next season incase Romo retires or gets hurt again, and part of me sees this as they still believe we have a shot this year lol

That's probably 2 more losses. Hopefully we get those two sooner than later so we get to see as much Moore as possible. I see the remainder of this season as an audition for next year's backup spot.

Romo - starter
Moore/ Cassel - backup
Drafted QB - 3rd string

Cassel doesn't need more practice time. He's been in the league forever and if they bring him back next year, he will have the entire offseason to prepare for the backup role. What they need to figure out is if Moore can play or not. If not, you draft a QB high next year. If he shows he can play, you don't need to draft one high unless a guy you think a 15 year franchise QB is on the board when it's your turn. There may not be an Andrew Luck in this draft but you can still learn from the Colts. It's not tanking to take the stance that you need to find out what your young QB can do so that you are fully informed going into the next draft.

Yeah I didn't word that just right for some. Practice time with this core, this group of players, and this scheme.. He can play the game it's developing chemistry with the entire offense, that takes time...

I have no problem with Moore if we're automatically eliminated. However at this point we have to go with the vet and that's Cassell. Moore should be his back up.

I agree Play Moore to see what we have in him. Chances are we lose with him playing which the the best case scenario. But if we end up winning with him it means we have our new QB so I think its a win win situation.

6 feet tall, 200 lbs with rocks in his pockets. I don't think he's the answer unless we can somehow graft Drew Brees arm on him (when Brees was younger).

Not sure he's the answer, but all I know is that Matt Cassel isn't either. Let the young guys play and see if they have a future with this team. 12-4 was a mirage. We're staring at 3-13 again.

And it could very well be that 3-13 or 4-12 is just a blip on the memory too.

You combine a little better health with some prime draft picks with a soft schedule with the advantage of being near first in line when it comes to the waiver wire and you certainly could have another good season next year.
