Kellen Moore

I honesty was thinking we should let Moore play for the rest of the season to see if we have something there. Also I don't mind losing out to get a high draft pick. Nothing is worst then missing the playoffs and having a 14-20 draft pick. What is your thoughts on that?

At this point, I don't seer this as a bad idea at all. Cassell is going to be a bus driving backup qb. Not necessarily a bad thing but we have no idea if Kellen Moore brings anything to the table. Go ahead & give him a game or two.

Never will we know what we got on our roster unless he gets on the field in a real game. He's here and we have nothing to lose so play him and evaluate him. He is a proven winner in college is reportedly very smart and knows this offense pretty well.

Let him play, see what he's got and then you will know if he should be on the team next year !!!!

We are officially in the Jerry is Vince McMahon, post Attitude era..

Regardless of whether he gets hurt or not, a better contingency plan needs to be put in place.

Oh no question.

Looking around the league I'm not sure they're going to do better than Cassel as the #2.

Which means #3 is going to need to be a real prospect... as in someone who can take over for Romo in two years.

How is this Jerry's fault? No one was complaining about him as a gm last year. This off season he added Hardy (biggest free agent signing since TO) and Gregory to the pass rush, something everyone was saying was the reason we lost against Green Bay. He also added La'el Collins and Chaz Green to bolster a strength.... Green got hurt, yeah, but hindsight.

People complaining about losing Murray haven't seen how awful he's been in Philly at $8M/year. And we didn't want to lose guys like Durant and Harris, but there is a cap.

All these issues are due to Romo getting hurt. Nothing Jerry could have done in the draft that would have helped (would you replace Jones or Gregory with one of the JAG qbs from this last draft after the top 2 were off the board)?

Jerry isn't blameless, but putting it all on him is lazy and shortsighted

I wouldn't mind letting Moore man the helm but Garrett might well have other ideas. He'll possibly want to see whether or not additional time for Cassel would allow him to get better results than we've seen thus far. It's also possible he'd decide to continue with someone like Cassel with extensive experience to accumulate more wins, just to enhance his coaching record if nothing else.

Fans such as ourselves don't have anything at stake and are perfectly willing to resort to such alternatives, while JG is undoubtedly highly concerned with his career. Nevertheless, if Cassel isn't impressive in his return to action, perhaps JG might opt to give Kellen Moore a try. Seems like it might help to know exactly what we have in house.

This would be a good time to practice throwing a pass on 1st down.

Could you imagine? Blasphemy!

Would ensure a top 3 pick, so I am all over it.

Sounds good to me but unfortunately, incumbent coaches aren't necessarily inclined to see it that way.

Now, if Jerry intervened and insisted upon giving Moore a try, Garrett might very well agree with it.

The grass is always greener and around here it's like paradise on the other side of that fence...

Kellen Moore is not better than Cassel. If you play him, I don't know what exactly you're evaluating. I think you run with Cassel the rest of the way and you evaluate whether he is your back-up going into next season.

He will get hurt again. This time, Goff or Lynch should be ready to go. Tony takes hits with 3 all pros on his oline. He holds the ball too long bc that's what he does. His receivers may be the slowest in the NFL. You must know, his next big injury is probably his last.

He holds the ball too long because that is how the play is designed. Our plays takes too long too develop.

I think the best plan is to play Cassel 2 more games and then see what Moore can do the remaining games. It's imperative that they find out who is a good, viable backup or decide to move on. With that said, expect Cassel to battle all remaining games.

I'd like to see Moore get a shot as well... but if the Deadskins beat the Giants it probably won't happen anytime soon. Maybe in Week 17.

So, just playing Devil's Advocate here, let's say they go with your plan and start Cassel for the next two games. If they win both games, which we all know is unlikely, their slim playoff hopes would still be alive and I can't see them switching to Moore. I think the change only comes if and when we are mathematically eliminated.
