With the virtual reality and other "study" tools, there really isn't any reason (other than lack of brain power) for a player not to be able to progress with understanding the game, recognizing formations & concepts, etc..

IF you get the mental down, a guy with his physical abilities should be able to compete.

Not saying that's what's going to happen, but it's what should happen.
