Kenny Phillips-DB-Player Apr. 10 - 6:01 pm et

The Dallas Morning News is "hearing" that the Cowboys like Miami of Florida S Kenny Phillips.
Drafting Phillips would give Dallas options, particularly with SS Roy Williams, who almost certainly won't play in the nickel package this year. The Cowboys could even consider cutting him if Phillips shows well in early camps. Phillips also would give them leverage in contract talks with Ken Hamlin.

I could live with Phillips and Cason in Round 1. :D

Then, the best RB in Round 2.

In Round 3, WR Monk or Hawkins or D Jackson.

:)

I know I am probably in the minority here but I think that RW will come around and return to being an impact player this year.

RW is already under contract and will cost us a bundle if we unload him.

I dont see us keeping Hamlin. I thought we would initially but not after some of the crazy money being thrown at so-so FS's this off season.

When do you guys think KP will be taken in the draft?

I really like that scenario.
Rd 1 Phillips
Rd 1 Cason
Rd 2 Rice/Charles/Johnson
Rd 3 Hawkins

Really, we could potentially be looking at a pretty big secondary shake up next year.

Newman might not get an extension. Henry seems to be always hurt. Roy, well, you know the drill. And Hamlin doesn't have a long term deal. I am not saying we'd let all 4 go....

But the potenial for a major shake up is there.

I think somewhere between 22 - 30, my best guess.

And in Round 4 the NT A Rubin

Round 5 (maybe we trade up a bit) O. Schmitt at FB

Round 6 a developmental QB. Ainge?

Round 7 ILB Leman or OLB Dingle

How's that?

count me in! I like this kid and it's time we start applying some pressure on Roy

There's no way Phillips gets past Carolina or Philly. IMHO of course.... That being said, I'd love it if he makes it to 22.

Man thats damn near perfect. Just listening to Path for the draft they had a couple of guys on there that said Phillips value is at a late 1st or 2nd rd.

I watched that also this evening. I did not like one thing they mentioned about Phillips - his lack of speed. If we can't make a play for a vet WR at 28, it will be interesting to see if we go with Phillips.

Roy would have a pretty big cap hit if we cut him though wouldn't he?

Yes, and I think Phillips would replace Hamlin after this year (if he doesn't sign a long term deal).
