Hes a top 10 guy but just had a very average jr year.

To be honest, I like Morgan better. I too think Johnson is an interesting prospect. I really like Zbikowski at Penn, thou I know many do not. I've watched him for awhile. I know Stan likes him because we have discussed him for a couple years now. Josh Barrett is an interesting player. He's raw but I think he could turn into a real nice player. There are a few sleepers as well. A guy I'm really interested in is Corey Lynch. He is not on anybodies radar but he could be a heck of a player.

, particularly with SS Roy Williams, who almost certainly won't play in the nickel package this year. The Cowboys could even consider cutting him if Phillips shows well in early camps.

Cutting R Williams? Like him or not, there are plenty of teams that would love him on their roster. Maybe a trade?

I understand that logic but I just don't love the idea of taking another Safety that high. For one, I think that if we cut Roy next year, then we probably sign Hamlin and lets not forget, Watkins. I honestly believe that Watkins could have a break out year if given playing time. He's a phenominal athlete. He just needs to learn the Pro game and get reps. He could be the guy at FS for us. I guess I just do not see what everybody else sees in him. I see a guy who has exceptional Size and Speed ratios but I don't see a guy who has really made a great deal of impact at Miami. I probably wouldn't draft him until around the 3rd and even then, there are other Safety prospects I like better.

Agreed about Watkins. How about this scenario:
2008 - Draft KP, keep Hamlin on 1 year deal, keep RW
2009 - trade RW, let Hamlin walk; 2 new starting safeties: Watkins at FS & KP at SS

I think we disagree on this one as well. I think he's riding the crest of Miami safeties of years past. He's good, but hardly a rare talent. He's no Ed Reed, that's for darn sure.

Agreed about Watkins. How about this scenario:
2008 - Draft KP, keep Hamlin on 1 year deal, keep RW
2009 - trade RW, let Hamlin walk; 2 new starting safeties: Watkins at FS & KP at SS

I do not like this idea because of the lack of experience that you plan to put on the field. I agree with the train of thought that we cannot keep RW and Hamlin. But one of them needs to stay IMO.

I really like Watkins and believe that he is the guy for us. But someone told me the other day that if a player is gonna start he will force his way on to the field. I agree with this and feel that this is the last year for Watkins to prove himself as a starter.

I think if we draft Kenny (hope we do!!) it will be to play FS, but Ken will be here a long time playing SS. JMO
