Is the guy I want. I feel ike I am the only one.

I am really suprised to see so little hype on this guy, why? He is a perfect fit for our team. We have question marks at both S spots and the value does not seem to favour taking a corner at 22. I think he makes perfect sense from a value/need/contract standpoint. Other thoughts???

My dream draft:
1a) Kenny Phillips
1b) Trade for a veteran WR. Or take the best CB available....likely Cason.
2) Running back I think Jones will fall anyway.

**I am assuming we get PacMan**

As much as I really like him, he'll likely be gone by the time #22 comes around. I mean LONG gone will be the issue.

I have a feeling either the Saints or Bears will take him.

eewww

I think you should only take great safeties in the 1st round, and Phillips isn't even very good

He has little hype, because he's not a first round talent, nor pick. He isn't good enough for hype.

I think he's talented, and good, and could likely follow the likes of Sean Taylor and Ed Reed, in terms of being a productive Safety from The U, but I don't think he's nearly as pressing a need for us as some other positions are.

Your not the only one, I don't really want him @ 22 though. If we dont trade 28, I wouldn't mind drafting him there. I think he will be pretty good.

Phillips long gone by 22?????

No way.

IMO/FWIW.

If someone would have said post the most absurd/wrong thing you can think of about Kenny Phillips in this thread it would've looked like that post.

Most feel he is a late 1st round or mid 2nd round pick...but he is all over the board. I think he may be there at 28 if we want him.

I don't really love him. IMO, 2nd Rd talent, 4th Rd production. I think that because he's played at Miami, he's getting more love then he probably should be getting. Miami has put out some great DBs over the years. Meriweather, Antrel Rolle, Sean Taylor, Ed Reed, Duane Starks, Bennie Blades going all the way back to Burgess Owens, which is about has far back as I can remember with Miami DBs, but Phillips is not in the same class as many who came before him.

If Phillips had gone to Nebraska, I don't believe he would be regarded in the same way he is being viewed by some. I could be wrong but that's what I think about it.

Huh, I have not seen a mock draft that has Phillips going in the top 15. And I have read a TON of mocks. Even some crazy ones with McFadden dropping to 12.

Phillips won't go in top 15 period. Late 1st to early 2nd.

Thats a bold statement.

I think NFL scouts will like him a lot more than draft magazines or who ever these people are putting him down.

His talent is not an issue.

What about that Ken Hamlin guy... you know, the one who just played in the ProBowl... Is he a question mark?

The Broncos could use safety help but at #12 I dont think they can use it on Phillips. Kind of a reach, maybe a trade down? But they do need help in a lot of places. I can also see them drafting a RB even with Henry.

Panthers need more help then at the safety position. I can see them drafting a RB or if Ryan drops.

Bears need help on offense period. If they don't draft SOMEONE on offense I would be one pissed off Bears fan, if I was one, and thank gawd im not.

Lions need help on the D-line after giving up Rogers and not having much of a pass rush what-so-ever.

Cardinals are supposedly moving Rolle to safety and already have Adrian Wilson.

What are the ? marks at the safety postion. Roy Williams, Hamlin are your starters, with Watkins and Brown currently the backups. Cb,rb, and wr are more pressing needs than the safety postion. Plus Phillips is currently valued as a late 1st, or early 2nd round guy. Now if he somehow slips to the 2nd round, maybe the cowboys might get him, but I think the boys won't pick up a safety until the 2nd day of the draft.

Everyone knows Roy Williams is a question mark :D

And the question mark he put on Hamlin is if we re-sign him.

Agreed thanks....I didn't think I needed to explain myself.

1) Roy Sucks
2) Hamlin is on a 1 year Franchise deal.
