I can't wait until Kevin Burnett breaks into our starting lineup.

I think his early injury and the fact that we have too many rookies out there is what is keeping him behind.

But I think him replacing Singleton or James is going to really create a difference on defense.

Ware - Nguyen - Fujita/Burnett - Fujita/Burnett

That I believe is what oure linebacker corps will look like in the future.

I think the faster that Ware becomes comfortable the faster that Burnett joins the starting ranks.

I was thrilled with Singleton making a big play on sunday, but honestly, I don't like his play. I think he is terribly overpaid, and with getting Kalen Thornton back, I can't wait til this guy is gone.

I think Parcells should get Burnett back in on the nickle D...

Dat & Shanle are MUCH too slow to be very effective...

I like Ware & Fugy outside with James & Burnett inside for the 3-4 backers.....

Although the last I read was Burnett was getting reps behind Ware...

Singleton is probably gone next year.

Where does Burnett play? That is my question right now. I don't see the logic of having your second round pick back up your first round pick in a defense that is woefully short of LBing talent on a team playing a scheme that emphasizes the LBers.

Dallas added a lot of talent this year, but you still need your second rounders to contribute.

James hasn't done a thing yet, I don't care if he is "big and makes hits". Dat is twice the player he is right now.

I realize you dont allow actual production on the field weigh overly much positive or negative but Dat should play as much as he is able.

The guy is playing off the friggin hook.

If I had my druthers I would have Burnett beat out Singleton. That scope set him back.

I strongly disagree JUnk...
Dat does of course play TWICE the amount of plays in the nickle as well...

I liked the Blitz/stunt that freed Dat for the one sack...(Untoched)
He was in "The right spot" on a tip pick and a fumble recovery that James could have had as well...

Now check the tackles...
Now devide by the number of plays .

Dat won't last much longer playing so much...He was almost knocked out last game and today was hurt again...

He hasn't made a hard hit since preseason 2 years ago...Yep, knocked himself out...

Moose even mentioned last game that he missed ALOT of tackles in the past, but is playing well this year...

Nice guy, could be a more effective role player, No where near the talent to be on the Nickle & base D's IMHO...

singleton has been a very solid role player for us, not everyone can be a playmaker

I'm looking forward to seeing Burnett also...he was my favorite pick in this year's draft.

I think he'll bring an energy level to the defense that will fit very well with the existing group.

I know you disagree...and you can make all the excuses you like, but the fact remains, Dat is the team's best linebacker right now. No question about it.

Wow -- How can anyone say Dat sucks? He missed one play with an injury against SF, came back in and got a huge tackle. He picked off Rattay to seal the game. If that wasn't enough he was smart enough to simply lay down with the ball rather than risk turning it over by trying to score off the int.

Yeah. Dat sucks. Good analysis.

Moose doesn't know crap about Dat. Dat was a pro bowl alternate two years ago, and last year our DL made TNew and ROy look like fools. Dat could pretty much start for every team in the league - no question.

Still hatin on Dat Nguyen eh? Must not be missing too many since he leads the team in total tackles.

Oh, and what does a retired fullback know about missing tackles anyway  ...

Dat may not be the most physically gifted linebacker out there, but he's by far the smartest one we have. With Ware and Burnett going through rookie growing pains, Fujita learning a new system, and James and Singleton disappearing at times, we really need Dat out there to shore up our inconsistant linebacker corps

Thats HH for ya, hes a notorious Dat doubter.

All linebackers need to be 6'6", weigh 260, and run the 40 in 4 seconds. And sack the QB 12 times a game. <sarcasm off>

Dat is our best LB period......nuff said.

The problem is you want to limit Ware's playing time, and you also don't want to have two rookies starting in your linebacker corps.

Kevin Burnett also has to learn a new position. He never played the 3-4 in college. And Ware has an even larger transition to make.

It's like asking why isn't Henson starting. Or Stephen Peterman.

As for Dat Nguyen... Watch out as he makes the pro bowl this year.

I see where you are coming from. I was hoping/anticpating that Burnett would be good enough to force his way onto the field somewhere. Maybe I need to be patient. He has been injured.

I don't know about the Pro Bowl, but it is possible if Dat continues to play the way he has.

Dat is a beast. He's all over the field and our "D" would be lost without him. He gives 100% every single play. He gets the JOB done and does it very very well.. PERIOD!!!

I think Burnett will eventually find his way to the field more. I'd like to see a little more of Fujita too. But Dat isn't the problem. In fact, I don't think Shanle is the problem either. I actually like him. He's always around the ball.
