Kevin Burnett

I think Burnett will eventually find his way to the field more. I'd like to see a little more of Fujita too. But Dat isn't the problem. In fact, I don't think Shanle is the problem either. I actually like him. He's always around the ball.

scott shanle and dat are two of the bright spots............ without a doubt.

Dat is a beast. He's all over the field and our "D" would be lost without him. He gives 100% every single play. He gets the JOB done and does it very very well.. PERIOD!!!

very much agreed.

Dat is our best LB period......nuff said.
seriously, until ware has at least one good season, Nguyen is far superior to our other LB's. Everytime any lb who's bigger than him comes along, people say hes going to take dat's spot and they never do. Burnett will play inside along Nguyen or OLB along with ware.

Thats HH for ya, hes a notorious Dat doubter.

All linebackers need to be 6'6", weigh 260, and run the 40 in 4 seconds. And sack the QB 12 times a game. <sarcasm off>

Dat is our best LB period......nuff said.

I just want to SECOND your Dat is our best LB period......ditto!

If I remember correctly some NFL great LBer's were "tiny".

Mike Singletary
Sam Mills <R.I.P Sam>
Jessy Tuggle

Just to name a few of the "tiny ones", they werent that blazing fast either. Dat is the "Rudy" of the Dallas Cowboys, first to practice, last to leave, he has heart and determination. Most small people have something to prove, I know because Iam one <5'8">, Dat plays with a chip on his shoulder as he should, Coakley was the same way. This is why Doug Flutie was one of my all time favs, every time he plays he puts his heart on the line, like I did at Southwest Texas state (which is now called Texas State, Go Cats!!!). I was a tiny outside LBer, but I laid it on the line everytime I played.

Us "shorties" get sick of people saying we cant do this, or we cant do that, its easy to get "short man syndrome" that way. This is why I have a ton of respect for Sprolles and Dunn, and Spud Webb was my favorite NBAer.

Dat, fumble recovery, INT and a sack.

3 big plays. if it was just 1, it could be a fluke.

Oh yeah, leads the team in tackles.

But wait, when the younger D-lineman (Canty, Spears, Radcliff, Pepper) start to gel and get stronger, look for Dat to even make more plays.

Dats great and I think he'll even get better as the year goes on.

Yes, tiny Dat "the gnat" is popular, I will give you guys that...But obviously you MISS alot of whats going on...

He has been a human pancake alot this year...But boy, he sure is cute and hits as hard as a puppy... ha ha ;)

I see many don't recall just the last reg season game last year when tiny whimpy Tiki Barber easily ran over datty for the GAME winning touchdown...Sorry, I want my LBers to be big & tough enough to make that GAME winning tackle...
Or Keyshawn a few years back gave datty a forearm shove, easily (again) moving datty out of the hole on a long Pittman TD run...Moose is right, he misses ALOT of tackles, sorry all you rose colored glasses wearing fans who don't watch or know football well enough to notice......

Just mark my words, he is too small, too slow and won't last...
We need playmakers not human pancakes...

To understand how he & Shanle lack so much speed, then you can begin to understand the liability they have while both on the field at once...

This act is getting old.

That was last year. You see now (or wait, nevermind, I guess you don't) that with decent lineman in front of him and not a worn out Glover and an ineffective Leonardo Carson, Nguyen is holding his own.

I don't know where you will find many MLBs who are able to take on offensive linemen getting to the second level. He is doing fine.

Dat is the Bill Bates of the D, he may not be big but he's got big ones man, did you see how one play he was totally ko'ed and he was back two plays later making the big tackle, I'm telling you if the rest of these guys with more talent could play like he does we would be scary. Dat gets hurt we're screwed....

Not if, but when he gets hurt...

Actually we will be forced to play someone else...Becoming better in the process, with much more big play ability...
The lil guy wouldn't start anywhere else in the NFL...

Just curious, what do you think of Zach Thomas ?

Mike Singeltary, Sam Mills, DD Lewis ?

Do you not like any of them, or just Dat ?

He is a former probowler and he is not too old. I guess that most teams would like to have someone like that on their team. Isn't Coakly starting? Wasn't there a discussion earlier this year about trading Dat to New Orleans, but we didn't want to give him up? I seem to recall something about that.

HH wants all our LBs to be 6'4 265? Why not play six DE's and no LBs? And I think Parcells knows football and he has started Dat three years now. He likes big LBs too, but can't seem to bring himself to replace Dat.

Who? You bashed Shanle too. Fowler?

Dat would start on a quite a few teams in the NFL right now, I suspect.

To a certain extent, I agree, Dat will be replaced in the next year or two, but I don't agree that he isn't a player. He is, by far, playing better than any of the rest of the LBers right now.

James is big, but can't seem to do anything. I really don't want another guy like that playing.

Complete and utter nonsense.

To replace Dat's production we are probably going to have to double his salary. Thats not a worthwhile use of salary cap dollars.

I can't wait to see Burnett some. I still think ILB beside Dat is probably his more natural position.

Can we just stop talking about Dat and resurrect some hate for lil Coakley? I kid ;P

I think Burnett will be on the outside and Fujita on the inside. Fujita is huge and could probably have a better shot at shedding a lineman the Burnett but its close on who would be better at the spot but given Fujita exp I think he will be inside.
