So have we stolen another UDFA?

6'1 195 and ran a 4.3. He just looks so incredibly natural out there too.

Im so glad UVA has had no QB's to speak of. This guy looks legit.

I just hope our staff doesn't limit what he can do. If the guy can play let him play.

I think so!!!! Cat runs great routes and has good hands but it's his attitude that impresses also. I like this kid.

Wait, how did he run a 4.3 and get past the Raiders?

If I remember correctly, it was a 4.37 to be exact.

Luckily for us, he knows J Garrett from their time together at U Va and that Virginia had a difficult QB situation last season.

A lot of draft mags and football gurus had this guy has a 4th/5th round pick.

I guess we just got lucky.

I think 4.37 at the combine, but generally he was in the 4.4 or 4.5 area.

I wonder: does he already have the best hands on the team (edit ... at WR I mean ... you can't get much better than Witten)

Too small a sample to tell, but MacMahon said he only dropped a ball or two all of training camp.

I don't think his speed or moves or after-the-catch may be the big deal (they may be kind of average) ... as much as he's got flypaper hands.

That 1st catch he had was so nice because of that route he ran.

It looked like something you would see from a High powered Rams offense or a Colts Offense.

For you guys who have been at camp does he make a lot of deep plays?

You'd think with his speed and Terry Glenn like quickness he would be able to make the big play.

Here is his combine video.

NFL.com videos are extremely choppy so be warned.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09000d5d80f2ec58/2009-Combine-workout-Kevin-Ogletree

Overview
Ogletree's early exit to the NFL had as much to do with his missing the 2007 season with a leg injury as it did his honorable mention All-ACC junior campaign. He led the Cavaliers with 58 catches for 753 yards and five touchdowns in 2008, and has already graduated. Once the NFL Draft Advisory Committee returned a favorable grade, Ogletree felt it was time to move on. His speed, elusiveness and strength could land him considerable playing time as a rookie. Had an arm span of 31 inches and a hand span of 9 inches at the combine.

He reportedly ran a hand-timed 4.37 at the combine. His official time was 4.45. The really amazing number was his 4.08 three-cone. That is just sick.

I couldn't disagree more about his speed and YAC'ability. It's actually kind of ironic: In college he was known for his athleticism and ability to run with the ball. His hands and route-running were questions.

A 4.08 three-cone would be sick. But he ran 6.67, which is still extremely good. His 4.08 20 yard shuttle was very impressive as well -- likely one of the fastest 20 yard shuttles ever run. I really don't see how someone with those eye-popping numbers went undrafted, especially with such good hands.

Who cares about his 40 time? I'm eating my crow because after watching him he can really play.

some of you guys might get upset at me. i know he looks great in preseason but will he get to play in regular season games. most of the time last season we only activated four wide receivers a game. i do not think the coaches will activate him to play in front of hurd who is one of our best special teams players. i want to see him have a big part in our offense this year but i do not see him activated in to many games this year unless we have to may injuries in front him which i hope we do not.

He won't be activated this year -- I still wouldn't trust him in games. He needs more time to develop strength and confidence. He plays timid at times, I think. But he will next year, as I doubt we sign both Austin and Hurd to longterm contracts.

Yeh. Shuttle. I get all those shuttles and cone drills confused.

I feel the exact opposite.

When you have a guy who keeps getting better and better at a rapid pace than it just doesn't make sense to try and stop the progress.

If I were the Cowboys i'd keep giving him more and more responsibilities until he showed me he couldn't handle it.

Is it almost official that we have depth @ WR?

You want him playing ahead of Hurd or Austin in a game? That's the only way he gets to dress on a Sunday.

He's still practicing during the week. The only thing he's missing is watching the games from the sideline, which doesn't stunt his progress much at all.

Right now I don't know because im not 100% sure what Kevin Ogletree is.

Is he a bottom of the depth chart guy? Is he a #3 slot guy? Or does he have Starter or even Superstar potential?

So I can't answer your question. I just want to see more.

I agree with the sentiments that he probably wont make the game day roster with a healthy group of receivers. My guess is that there is a slim chance our top 4 receivers all play 16 games this season though, so I expect to at least see a little bit of this kid this year.

I think he will likely end up being better than Austin and Hurd, certainly Hurd. But not this year.
