Kevin Ogletree

Not sure Austin will be better. Ogletree is actually a little faster and quicker then Austin; and right now appears to have better hands. I can seriously see Hurd beating out Crayton for that position; the way he has come on its a real possibility. We could by the end of the season see Hurd and Ogletree alternating at the #2 and #3 WRs. I think Austin is going to have to show some serious production to see a lot of playing time; the staff knows what they have in Crayton and he does not need that much work; so I could see them trying Ogletree and Hurd more to see how far they can go.

I don't think Austin has done anything to jeopardise his status.

He has dropped a couple of passes but he has been open for some plays down field and the QB's have just missed him.

Also he has had some catches that got negated because of penalties.

I just see a lot of big play potential with Austin.

The problem we have is Hurd and Ogletree have shown they can play too.

#3 WR by committee?

I think both Hurd and Ogletree have outplayed Austin.

Austin just does not take advantage of his chances.

I feel the same way but Austin will get the nod over Ogletree cuz he's been here longer.

Wow, there are like 30 different 40 time numbers for him in here, lol.

His official combine time was: 4.46, good for 11th fastest receiver at the combine, according to NFL.com. I see the 4.3 number on nfldraftscout.com, but he didn't run a 4.3 at the combine, so not sure where that comes from.

He did have a good, overall workout however, except in one of the catching drills I saw where he dropped almost half the balls. You can see part of his workout here: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09000d5d80f2ec58/2009-Combine-workout-Kevin-Ogletree

I like the kid, I think the fact that he saw action against starting competition says a lot about how the staff feels about him too. His roster spot is basically a lock, the real question is Stanback, and it aint looking good.

I think so!!!! Cat runs great routes and has good hands but it's his attitude that impresses also. I like this kid.

I haven't been so excited about receiver since.....Damon Hodges :(

However I can't wait to see what the guy does next year after a good strength and conditioning program. Me thinks this guy could challenge for a starting position.

I wonder: does he already have the best hands on the team (edit ... at WR I mean ... you can't get much better than Witten)

Crayton can snatch balls in his sleep, he's got the best hands out of the receiving corp.

Roy Williams? That guy has some of the best hands in the entire NFL.

I think the key is that Ogletree has great upside and even if he isn't playing, he is a talent that we can insert into the lineup if one of our other WRs goes down. Great UFA find.

I have love for him because I drafted him in my college fantasy league last year. Can't say I was happy with the results last year, but that was because he didn't have a quarterback. I'm very excited about him.

The Cowboys need to find a place for him on the active roster. He needs to get some WR action and also I'd like to see what he can do as a kick returner. If he could learn to field punts, he will be active definitely.

Well, his play has got me excited about seeing more. If he keeps doing what he did last nite then it'll be hard to keep him off the field. I do think the INT may have been on him not being in the right place but it could just have easily have been due to a bad throw from Romo.

Point is he's getting open against first team defenses and that is what I was waiting to see. I don't think he's as fast as Glenn or Austin or Stanback and I don't care as long as he produces. He's fast enough so far. He is quick and his route running is precise. His routes do remind me of Witten. And Romo likes him.

The offense looks very, very good.

I agree with one of the announcers. Now I agree Stanback is in trouble. Olgetree has to continue to produce. I think we'll see a lot more of Austin, Olgetree and Stanback in the last preseason game.

Dallas might carry 6 receivers: This is how I see their ranking as of now (this is subject to change)

1. Crayton
2. Hurd
3. Williams
4. Austin
5. Ogletree
6. Stanback

Ogletree is gaining and it wouldn't suprise me to see him upstage Hurd or Austin (both talented receivers who have trouble staying on the field). Some receivers just never get over that hump and are always just a season away from being ready (ie see Hurd, Austin) and some guys just come in and trasition effortlessly from day one.....Ogletree certain gives you that sense he might be that guy.
