Keyshawn's Dallas future could be decided today

Cowboys receiver Keyshawn Johnson's future in Dallas probably will be decided today at 3 p.m.
If Johnson is on the Cowboys' roster at 3 p.m., he will receive a $1 million bonus. So the Cowboys must decide whether to give him the money or release him.
The bonus alone probably won't make Johnson happy. Johnson, scheduled to earn a base salary of $1.5 million this season, would like a one-year extension and a raise that pays him between $2 million and $3 million.
The Cowboys could pay him the bonus and release him later, but that's unlikely. The sides have not communicated in the last two weeks.

The Dallas Cowboys do NOT retire jersey numbers.

Looks like we're going to do one or more of the following:

1) Release Key and try to resign him (not likely as we're terrible at re-signing released players)

2) Release Key and try to sign TO (somewhat likely as JJ is a gambler.)

3) Release Key and try to land a premiere WR in the draft (not too likely as premiere WRs may be gone by 18)

4) Pay Key's bonus and worry about it later. (possible, but not likely as we don't like paying these types of bonuses and we haven't even talked to his agent)

Signs are pointing to TO.

Glenn is better and cheaper than Key. Glenn takes the double coverage, key doesn't. TO will get the double coverage paired with Glenn.

No way are we not going to give Keyshawn his $1M bonus. Even if we do sign TO (and given our slow FA start) which fast becoming a need, we need Keyshawn & Glenn w/Crayton as backup if any of our starters do gown.

cowboys don't "retire" numbers they DO however have aring of honor.
a true retiring of numbers is what the spurs do

Honestly im hoping and praying Keyshawn Johnson gets a deal done.

Keyshawn did mention that he wouldn't mind for Terrell Owens to play for the Cowboys.

I wonder if he really meant that?
