I’d take an OT over a CB at 10 any day
Man, the value that's going to be there at 10, just may not line up with that. I really haven't watched much college football or paid too much attention to draft rankings, but it seems most of the value ahead of where we pick are positions we won't be picking.
We aren't picking any of the QBs. Regardless of anyone's opinion on Dak, it's just not realistic to suggest we do at 10, So Lawrence, Fields and Wilson won't slip that far but if we're lucky, some team takes Lance before 10 pushing down a non QB.
We also won't be taking WR, so DeVonta Smith and Ja'Marr Chase won't be the pick, but again, in the realm of we're lucky, a third WR, say Jaylen Waddle goes top 10, but I think the 4th QB is more likely.
Just off of value, we know Penei Sewell will go before 10. I'm inclined to say Micah Parsons does as well, but I don't know how sitting out the season will effect his stock.
So just looking at CBS, the value there at 10 will be Kwity Paye (I don't know why they have him ranked this high, can't see him going in the top 20 to be honest). Kyler Pitts, who I'd take, despite the belly aching that would ensue hear. Jaylen Waddle, who we just won't pick. Caleb Farley and Patrick Surtain are kinda ranked right in there at 11th and 13th overall.
After them? Gregory Rousseau, who is similar to Parsons imo. Huge sophomore season, but sat out, not sure how his draft stock will be effected, but is certainly a guy I'd consider. Wyatt Davis and Rashawn Slater, two o-linemen, one who has played exclusively at guard and one who likely will be a guard in the NFL as well. I'd give them consideration as well, as I think upgrading at LG is a huge need, but am I more likely to find a quality guard later or a quality DB later?
And after them, it's really more WRs and guards/second tier tackles. Just not a good draft for top end defensive talent outside the two CBs to be honest.
