Ehh. Everyone thinks we are taking tight end .. I would want mazi in the 2nd if he would fall and Mingo in the 3rd. Actually would rather go offense line in the 3rd .

6’2 / 220 WRs that run in the 4.4s and have plus tape in the SEC don’t grow on trees.
Best report I read was “He won't beat you with his routes, at least not yet as his traits are there but the technique is not.”. You’re drafting for his potential upside and what he can become. Dallas is an absolute perfect fit for him

NFLs report lists his route running as a positive.

Once you get out of the 1st almost every prospect is being drafted for upside.

He will. I just don’t see it or why. Simply based off of potential
Respectfully, I don't think it's strictly on potential. He shows what he is on tape and it's pretty good. When I think of potential I usually think of the speed guys that are questioned for their lack of diverse route running, or something of the like.

The more I watch him the more I like him.

Mayer is talented but I think I would just roll with the guys we have and maybe a later round guy to develop. If we are taking a wide receiver, it should be one with speed to burn.

No problem with Mayer at 26. We will be lucky to get a 1st round talent at all this year. Rather take Josh Downs at 58 tho.

I almost feel as if the TE’s we have are TE’s we got in the hopes of developing. We snatch another developer, and the TE room will be filled with glorified developers. I think if you’re going to grab one it should be a seam stretcher, or I’ll just agree with your sentiment of rolling with the guys we have.

I saw in another post where someone had referred to the collective TE group as “very good” and “capable”. At present we really haven’t witnessed very good, but in fairness to them, they’ll get their opportunity to prove their worth. Perhaps one of them can become very good, but for now I think the capable label is the only one that fits.
