Kitna Extended 4 Years...Old

I think it helps, not hinders McGee's development. Think about it, he has a VERY good (pushing forward to great) starting QB to watch and learn from, and a veteran backup that has put up good numbers on some very bad teams and has been around long enough to see a bit of everything.

There is something to be said for experience at the QB position and between the two of them, I think McGee can benefit a whole lot if hes paying attention. It's not much to go off of, but the sounds of the game from the Tampa game suggests that he is.

I agree. McGee will be brought along slowly not a bad thing for a kid who did not get allot of chances at passing the ball when he was at Texas A&M. The contract Kitna got will not prohibit McGee elevating up the depth chart should he show he is ready to take on the backup role in the next 2 years

Really... 4 years... that seems a little long.

Who is this Adam Caplan and how did he get this information before the rest of us?

It was more to free up cap space than anything else. I remember the story when we traded for him.

Umm, wait. Didn't he sign a 4 year extension before this season???

Edit: Nevermind - didn't read entire thread. Others have already made this point.

Carryon!!

I don't understand why Kitna can't learn how to hold for kicks,,, does he have tiny hands or something?
Yeah -- he is the guy in the Burger King commercial...

Um, Kitna signed his extension 10 months ago, at the beginning of March.

Good thing we just got that Keith Brookings guy from Atlanta, too. He might be able to help us this postseason.

I like it, Kitna has always had the potential to be a great player, just never lived up to it. But I have faith in him when he's surrounded by the type of players that are on the Cowboys. And when I say that, I think he is capable of doing more with the offense than Brad Johnson was.
