according to Garrett in his presser...

Kitna reached out to Jason Garrett saying he was available

Garrett asked him..."Are you serious?"

Kitna: "Yes I'm serious". Spoke to his family and got the go ahead and I imagine he boarded a plane shortly after that as he was at the facility today.

Garrett said Kitna, who was teaching/coaching, reached out to the Cowboys about the job. Said he was gung-ho

Yea I bet he was gung-ho about receiving another NFL paycheck to watch some football from the sidelines.

I'm not a fan of this move, but give Kitna credit, he's always been a tough guy with heart. If he has to go in, he will go all in…...he will play hard no matter how terrible that hard may be.
rather him than McGee…. Heck, rather Matt Moore than either!

I believe he teaches troubled kids, or at an inner city school. Him collecting a paycheck from Jerry is better than some on this team. At least we knew when he played he came to play and not JUST collect his check. Regardless what better way to reach kids than playing the final game of the year for the Freaking Dallas Cowboys! Tell me one kid in his class that won't sit down, shut up, and listen.

Garrett said Kitna not only has experience running the scout team for the Cowboys, but he's been running the scout team at the high school he coaches. That means he has been throwing the football on a regular basis and knows what to do without any learning curve. I'm glad he offered to help out because we need all the help we can get to beat Philly again.

Sounds like Kitna wants a free paycheck?....

He's a good guy. He deserves it. He doesn't strike me as the greedy type who wanted to cash in on an opportunity. He probably was smart enough to save his money throughout his career. He also devotes his life to helping inner-city kids learn math and football. It's not like he teaches sex ed and dodge ball. The guy is legit.

David Carr was the final try out yesterday...you'd know that if you'd do something other than ***** about Garrett.

So we chose a high school teacher, because he runs the scout team with high school team to keep himself in pro football shape, because he called what, yesterday?

When he was young, he was 10 times the QB any of those other guys ever were (Carr, Thigpen). He led two different teams to the playoffs (Seahawks, Bengals). Sure, he's old and hasn't played but he's still probably better than those other guys. And he was here running our offense just 2 years ago. Were you complaining when we signed Brian Waters?

You obviously didn't watch Matt Moore last Sunday against Buffalo. :D
