When he was young, he was 10 times the QB any of those other guys ever were (Carr, Thigpen). He led two different teams to the playoffs (Seahawks, Bengals). Sure, he's old and hasn't played but he's still probably better than those other guys. And he was here running our offense just 2 years ago. Were you complaining when we signed Brian Waters?

So, he still still sucked and I guess he's still young and didn't retire 2 years ago because of back issues and hasn't even been around pro football in two years... So we worked him out? And really, Waters didn't retire because of back issues. He refused to play a season and an OL member isn't a QB and we had players at the position that we could shuffle. And Kitna never threw the ball with Callahan.

It doesn't matter. You would have started a thread about how it was a stupid move no matter who they brought in to be the back up.

Really, a guy who hasn't played a snap in two years, because he's a high school teacher is the same as hiring a back-up that is still in the league and in playing shape?

What difference does it make? If Orton get's hurt, it's over anyway. Does anyone really think David Carr would lead us to victory? I'd rather go down with Kitna.

Really, because you are that snarky. You would be ripping the signing of a back-up that is still in the league and in playing shape.

Really, I would? A guy whose been retired for 2 years and hasn't taken a snap of football, who calls the DC and is signed as a backup is the same thing as signing a back-up still in the league and in playing shape? And that too, because he told Garrett he's been scouting the high school football team even though as far as I know, we didn't work him out?

All this talk and he has been asked who he would have brought in and nothing...just more of the same.

So we chose a high school teacher, because he runs the scout team with high school team to keep himself in pro football shape, because he called what, yesterday?
No, we signed a guy who knows the Offense, personnel, and terminology already. We signed a guy who himself went through a herniated disc in 2011 and knows what Romo is going through more than anyone else. We signed a guy who is respected by Tony Romo more than you will ever understand, who respects the Head Coach and organization more than you will ever understand, and who regularly was the leader of prayer sessions after practices and meetings that were attended by some of the best players on this team. We signed a guy who is a HS football coach, and who could roll out of bed and throw the football the same as any guy who played the position could if they've continued to throw a football. We signed a guy who can run scout team plays because he is tough, intelligent, and a natural leader. We signed a guy who more players than you can even imagine are excited to have back.

Wow.. with a testimony like that, you'd think it would be impossible that he only led one team to a winning record in his 14 year career and that to an 8-7 record over a decade ago...

Thank goodness... The whining was getting annoying. I guess some people just live bitter lives. Bitter about everything.. lol. It's ridiculous! I appreciate the real talk and agree with every single word.

What would your plan be sir? I guarantee you, many of us would find plenty of holes in it.

Why not? Chances are, ANY QB we would have signed wont see any game time on Sunday night, so what's the difference? He'll also be released as soon as our season is done.

Ha, I see what you did sir. quoted and placed in bold a small segment of my quote. no matter.

I'm not a fan, but I'm not beefing either. Not many moves to make. If they don't do it with Orton or Romo, 99.9% they don't do it at all.
And I respect the man's heart (Kitna). Would Carr or VY have been a better move? A younger QB with some mobility? Sure, but they don't know the playbook..
You know what, paint me "Don't Care" but I'm sure I will be asked… "why don't you care?"

Goodluck to Orton, get well soon Tony, and hopefully the GM has a QB plan for the future… a good one!

So then what was the plan if Kitna didn't call?
They worked out Tyler Thigpen, David Carr, and John Skelton. They also discussed PS QBs Greg McElroy, Nick Stephens, and free agent Richard Bartel. I am sure there were others discussed too. Those are the ones I knew about. If you want my opinion, I would have signed Greg McElroy, as I believe he is a good backup option for the future. I believe the Cowboys would have brought back Nick Stephens had Kitna not called.

Yeah, for 16 years NFL coaches like Mike Holmgren and Marvin Lewis had no idea what they were doing. They could have listened to you and avoided a character guy altogether and somehow managed to win.

How many seasons did he have where he threw more INTs than TDs?

Jon is absolutely a classy guy...I am glad Dallas resigned him...people thought Kitna couldn't get the job done in 2010 and he did and he will do it again if needed...If Jon did call, that just shows his dedication and loyalty to the Cowboys...excellent traits for a player to have in my opinion...

So they took Kitna without working him out, because he called? When was Callahan hired?

Can I get your phone number? I want to call Mike Brown and tell him he needs to fire Marvin Lewis and hire you as his Head Coach since you know more than Marvin does. I'll mention that you know more than Mike Holmgren too. Even though he ran the Cleveland Browns, the team his Daddy hated, I am sure Mike Brown would be impressed by the possible improvement.

Do You know anything? Google is your friend. Google "Bill Callahan" and then when you see "Bill Callahan - Wikipedia" you can find out for yourself when Bill Callahan got hired.

You don't like answering questions... How many seasons did Kitna have more INTs than TDs and how many winning records did he take his teams to?
