KJ Wright LB is the best linebacker available

There is very little chance the team heads into the draft with just two starting caliber linebackers. Yes, Neal will play a little linebacker, but that might just be more of a nickel role.

KJ Wright is the best linebacker available, can play all 3 spots and has played in this scheme under Dan Quinn. Adding him, would stablize the position and wouldn't force the team to reach to fill a need in the draft. I really think it's going to come down to him staying with Seattle or Wright either signing with us or the Raiders.

I agree. I think we should look into him but it doesn’t seem his market has developed. I saw rumors it was the Seahawks and eagles interested but nothing yet.

I wonder why he has no market yet. I believe he still wants to be paid and not take a shorter deal.

I know multiple teams could use him and the linebacker market is blah right now

That would be an awesome add. I'd love to get him out on the field.

You're talking about a team that had kept Tyrone Crawford for his entire extension, Nick Hayden for 3(?) years, Justin Im retired Durant at LB for 2 years after he checked out etc...

They may not be sold on LVE past this year but I think they will give him this year to re-prove himself. And I doubt they anywhere as negative as most are on Smith. So, to me they got LVE, Smith, Neal*, Bernard, IR GIRfford, and will probably take another LB in the draft.

At most IMO, they may sign another depth LB, but I can't see Wright. Hope I'm wrong but I have doubts they would sign Wright when they are hoping for a rebound for their crippled duo.

Seems like fans like him more than the Cowboys, who I don't think have been linked with him? He's also an OLB and as much as we may not like Smith or LVE, I doubt they bring in another OLB, especially since Neal could also be playing some LB as well.

SEA needs a D with AZ and LAR in the division and if they let him walk, beware. First question should always be "gee, I wonder what her first husband didn't like about her"?
I wonder that too....as I then go on to see the Cowboys sign Neal and look at Kazee.....

Since he is still available, maybe teams are waiting to see if they can get him on a 1 year cheap prove you still have it deal.

Could be his asking price is too high still.
Get him on a 3 year that is voidable with performance incentives. Do it!

He's likely waiting it out for the bigger, best deal, for my guesswork.
But I have very little expectations that we would even consider an established vet like Wright.
Stephen probably has already made up his mind that KJ will be out of his price range.

Plus I can't shake the feeling that management really does believe in Jaylon and how
good of a player they really think he is.

Sorry but despite draft ahead, post-draft, i'm seeing a plan that indicates we could see our team struggle vs run again.

lol he’s not taking that deal. If he wanted to play the cheap, incentives game he would’ve stayed in Seattle. He’s already said no to a discount for them and he wants to be paid.

With that being said. He likely ends up back in Seattle

No state tax in Texas. Never say never. Make it achievable Incentives. All Good. All good franchises have underling verbiage that gets past surface cap numbers.

this would give us flex in the draft if we could sign him AND either Kazee/Hooker.

I think this is the most likely scenario.

Neal is your new WLB full time in the base defense and nickel. You can look at it kinda like having two Strong Safeties on the field with him and Wilson, plus a FS (Kazee or Hooker). Either LVE or Jaylon likely slide over to strong side with the other manning the middle. I don’t see them signing KJ Wright at all unless it’s for pennies and he really wants to play in big D, even if it means a lesser role.

My thoughts exactly. Fans don’t like Jaylon. But in reality I’m sure they are penciled in with NEAL - LVE - SMITH as starters and are looking for depth

not totally convinced LVE or Jaylon won't be traded to a team desperate enough to take a chance on them. We need at very least 2 top notch linebackers and I dont care how we land them. Sign maybe KJ Wright and then draft a guy like KJ Britt or Brandon Browning/Pete Werner. We need quality bodies at LB.

Make him an " honest offer."
