As usual, I want a big ol' DT. Here's the dude that would wildly change our D, the guy who would make everyone around him better. Freakish athlete for his size, disruptive, this is the guy:

Tim Settle, VT.

What's up, why him?

I don't make many predictions. This is the rare instance. Settle will be the best NT out of this draft.

Better than Vea? Yes. For a huge reason. Settle has an explosive first step. Vea is slow off the ball.

Settle collapses the pocket but at the same time stays strong against the run.

Complete beast. 2nd round grade due strictly to coming out w/ 2 yrs of eligibility remaining. Problem is, there's a good chance he won't be there for our 2nd round slot. This cat has top 10 ability.

Love Settle. Was watching some Tremaine Edmunds tape this weekend and probably ended up watching Settle more than Edmunds. Having a DT like that to keep our LB’s clean would do wonders for the D

Not sure if he's a better prospect than Vea, but I absolutely love Settle.

The only concern on the scouting report is ability to keep his weight down and conditioning, if he can keep that straight I think he'll be a stud!

I think his explosive first steps separates him. He has that rare abilty to collapse the pocket, but at the same time remain strong against the run.

No, I don't believe he'll be there for our 2nd. Would I take him in the first? Absolutely.

If not, I'd gladly trade up in the 2nd if he's still there. Might easily go late first. His agility and burst will shock people at the combine, and he will most likely climb into the first round.

The ONLY reason he's rated below Vea is due to coming out after 2 years.

I'll do back flips if we end up with Vea or Settle.
In fact even if the Cowboys draft Vea in the first I would still strongly consider drafting Settle in the second if still on the board.

possible with the extra picks we have

We only have one 3rd round pick and that's likely what it would cost to go in the first few picks of the 2nd round. So if you are OK with losing that, then make the move.

Our extra picks are 4th round and later, which isn't going to help a ton moving up in the first or second round, unless you are talking about only a handful of spots in the 2nd round.

I'd take him in the first as well but in a trade down scenario.

It's a little alarming that no one in the scouting community is talking about him much?

Trade back and he could be gone. We've made a lot of mistakes trying to be cute, sometimes you just gotta stay there and take the guy.

Wait, you are saying we should take Settle at 19?

I like him. But not there.
