His tape is awesome. He's almost scary quick for a dude that size.
Almost like a 335lb 3-tech.
Extremely powerful too.
Like someone put a jetpack on the Hulk.

As usual, I want a big ol' DT. Here's the dude that would wildly change our D, the guy who would make everyone around him better. Freakish athlete for his size, disruptive, this is the guy:

Tim Settle, VT.

What's up, why him?

I don't make many predictions. This is the rare instance. Settle will be the best NT out of this draft.

Better than Vea? Yes. For a huge reason. Settle has an explosive first step. Vea is slow off the ball.

Settle collapses the pocket but at the same time stays strong against the run.

Complete beast. 2nd round grade due strictly to coming out w/ 2 yrs of eligibility remaining. Problem is, there's a good chance he won't be there for our 2nd round slot. This cat has top 10 ability.
I dig Settle too. And he’s for sure going to be available at 19.
What I like about this kid is not only is he a 335 lb monster, but he’s extremely nimble and athletic for a man that big. When he gets leverage on a big lineman, it’s curtains.

Will be interesting to see how he does at the combine because he could actually shoot up draft boards if he shows off some of that athleticism.

He is a big powerful guy but I don’t see them taking him at 19 and as has already been stated he won’t be there when they pick in the second. So I have moved down to a few guys that I think they could possibly take.

Justin Jones NC State I view him as more of a 3 but probably fits the mold of what Rod wants in a 1.
BJ Hill NC State this guy is a powerful monster good luck moving him from his spot and can penetrate. That NC State line was a beast.

Kendrick Norton Miami this kid is a run stuffer but is raw needs coaching but Rod could probably get him in shape

Trade back in the first then use the pick acquired to move up in the 2nd.

I think some of you may be way too concerned w/ this value stuff. I guarantee you that teams like NE and PITT don't give a crapp about value. Vince Wilfork was the 16th pick in the draft. Betcha there was a ton of fans that didn't like the pick.

So, you got a guy who looks like that nasty NT w/ incredible movement skills who can both collapse the pocket and stuff the run. Guy will require a constant double team, which will suddenly make everyone on either side of him better. He could seriously put us in the super bowl.

But 19 is too high? Why?

His teammate Brown is better...I just don't get the love for this guy. He is slow off the football. His change of direction is bad. He can get destroyed in double teams...when a guy down blocks him. Sadly...this is the guy I can totally see us taking. The guy has a sloppy looking pear shaped body. My biggest concern is ...watch him balloon back up to 400 pounds once he gets some money.

You seem to have his scouting report backwards!!!!!!!!

He's built to a T like Vince Wilfork.

Taven is a nice prospect, but raw. I like him and would definitely consider him at 19. However, he's raw and has serious questions. May lack the required instincts. Questions as to whether he will ever harness the mental side. Plus, he's a 3 tech, and we already have a roster full of that type!!

The more I watch that tape...the more you see old school Randy White. Taven Bryan is just one strong mean dude. Give me that all day...every day.

Except he may lack the instincts to be more than a rotational player. Great physical talent, but you'd be taking a huge chance on him in the 1st.
And he plays a position of strength. W/ our weaknesses, be strange to take a player at a position that is already crowded.

I have no problem with value I just don’t see Jerry pulling the trigger on a guy like that at 19. There will be a flashy shiny object just like when they took Jones over Malcolm Brown. Flashy objects also make the fans happy. I remember how happy people were when they drafted Mo and left Cox on the board, or how unhappy people were when they drafted Martin and left Manziel on the board, or how happy they were when they drafted Jones and left Brown on the board.

There are a lot of good stuffer 1 techs I like in this class.

Take a look at Derrick Nnadi. Dude doesn't offer much as a pass rusher but he is an absolute rock against the run. Reminds me a lot of Terrell McClain, who's a guy we missed badly this last year.
