Yeah he just made it clear a minute ago that Shanahan is going to the Commanders. he's pretty confident about it. So the gm will be Allen and the Head Coach will be Shanahan. Interesting.

Well, I think we have our "football guy" GM. How long before we bring in Cerrato?

Mort is saying on GAC right now that he's absolutely convinced that Shanahan is taking the Skins job. He's not reporting it per se, but he has no doubt at all that they are saving the job for Shanny and he will accept the job.

Crap.

He also says that a wild card guy for us is Jeff Fisher. Interesting.

Jeff Fisher would be fantastic.

But back to back coaches with ties to the eagles.....I say boo to that.

On the Rooney Rule. I don't have the link now, I will try to get it. The commission that monitors the Rooney Rule adherence said that the Skins satisfied that condition 10 days ago. That certainly implies that this was a known thing and Cerrato was given the option of like it or lump it and he chose to lump it. Also, interestingly, Cerrato is not answering any calls, even those who are supportive of him.

Zorn is 95% likely to be a lame duck, and Shanahan sounds like a 90% lock, but they won't do anything till the end of the season.

We will see how it messes up the team on Monday...

No, not that I know of... But maybe Mort has heard something. He said he mentioned this on TV a few weeks ago and he stands by it.

Also, I forgot to mention, but Mort mentioned Cowher, and Galloway said there was no way he would work for Jerry. Mort said people around the league -- coaches and front office people -- like Jerry a lot more than you'd think. But he said he didn't know if Jerry would want to write the huge check Cowher will want. He's likely looking for a gargantuan salary.

The more I read about Allen, the less I like (not necessarily about him, but about the situation). He's not a personnel guy, he's a manager. That seems to mean that we are still looking for our personnel guy, and it will likely be in the form of a coach/president guy like Shanahan. That never works out, and it will give Snyder the cover to continue his meddling.

Fisher has to get the boot in Tennessee first, I just don't see that happening.

The Titans would be absolutely stupid for letting him go.

I think Cowher wants the Carolina job. He moved to North Carolina when he left the Steelers.

I know someone who works for the Bucs, Allen is a very good hire. I hate to say that. I mean it galls me.

Well that's encouraging thanks. Did he say what was good about Allen? I looked at the draft history of the Bucs when he was there (http://******/7vMBIS), and it's terrible.

Like I said yesterday, if Shanahan has to go somewhere where the team doesnt have a QB and needs a rebuilding job, he wont do well IMO. And the Skins dont have a QB and are gonna be in rebuilding mode.

I cant see Tennessee letting Fisher go at all, not after this run they've been on. Then again, maybe they'll just say its time to part ways...he's been their coach 15yrs and has produced one super bowl run, and wouldnt have got that one if not for that fluke play vs Buffalo in the wildcard round.

I have read that Cowher wants in the neighborhood of $10 million. Don't know if there's any truth to that but I just can't see him wanting to work for Jerry.

He'd certainly make it fun around Valley Ranch.

Jeff Fisher did a TV interview not long ago and he said he LOVED being in Tennessee and had zero interest in coaching anywhere else.

He saved his job this year I think with all the VY "save the day" games. He's not coming to Dallas.

I bet Portis is thrilled by all this. Maybe Shanny will trade him to Denver for Champ Bailey.

I'd be all over Jeff Fisher like deformity on that ear, if he were available.
